Having attended CSGO's gfinity masters last weekend, i can highly recommend it. Much fun. Was thinking about attending SC2's event this weekend despite not playing in ~2-3 years because it was so good! Heres a post i made of my experience to convince you to go :3 + Show Spoiler + On March 24 2015 08:55 Capped wrote: It was sick! obviously the venue only fit about 600 people so it wasnt really crowded but it was sold out and there were plenty of people, because of the small venue / crowd you literally just bumped into players / casters all over the place it was great. You can see from the pic that we were really close to the booths (and casters on the right!) and it was pretty cool seeing them all just stroll past or hearing TaZ roaring at his team / NiP from the booth. (yup, not sound proof.) Had to keep asking casters / players etc to move from our seats all day too because they wanted dem badass seats instead of the ones they were allocated on the wings :D If you took a piss between games you were pretty much guaranteed to bump into whoever was playing tbh, it was a shock for me when i took my first toilet break after the first game and walked in to the entirety of VP standing there lol. I washed my hands after taking a piss and turned round to nearly headbutt f0rest lmao, The venue was inside a small shopping center so everyone basically hung out inside the place (or outside the doors for ciggie breaks), had a chat with semmler / banks near the escalators and NiP were just chilling in a pizza place eating lunch ~10 steps from us lol. I tried not to bother the players too much though i think i should have just YOLO selfied with them all, alot of people were stopping them for autographs / pics mid-series which i didnt want to do and this one guy hassled the fuck out of nV in the toilet lmao. Missed out of NiP pics because i didnt want to bother them during series / lunch The arena itself was pretty cool, on the front row i had to look up to see the main screen but it wasnt bad (no sore neck after 10+ hours for either of us) and we had the booths with individual player monitors right in front of us, casters were just over on the right, close enough for some fun banter inbetween games, we were all restless after the finals waiting for the analysts to finish up so nV could get their trophy/money and we could all go the fuck home and at one point you just hear Semmler go "SCOOTS CLOSE THE FUCK UP" out of nowhere lmao. Other then that it was just standard cinema really, front row was a solid choice for all the little bonuses ive mentioned + GLORIOUS LEG SPACE. It was my first LAN but i thought it was an amazing experience (even viewing day 2 from home, the production quality was pretty good after fridays disaster and the early delays) and a really intimate one too, teams, casters and co everywhere all relaxed and happy to chat to people & sign / take pics, you cant really put a price on just casually walking around with these big names you've grown to idolise. Will definitely be attending the rest of Gfinitys events this year. Highly recommend it to anyone in or around london. Tempted to hit up the SC2 event next week despite not playing/watching for a few years, #JaedongSelfie anyone? :D tl;dr - Really awesome event, very intimate, lots of cool random moments with famous faces, took a piss with pasha and nearly headbutt f0rest after washing hands trying to get out, can die happy. | ||
