Hey guys,
I'm not asking this question because I'm too impatient to wait until Beta to start, I'm asking this because I am frankly unsure that I will be getting a Beta Key at all despite going to Blizzcon as a WCS Finals only attendee.
As stated by Blizzard here and at the live venue:
Blizzcon attendees and WCS Finals attendees were promised Beta Keys (on location) but we were never distributed any. Instead, we were told that they would be emailing them out to us.
Since then, I have never heard anything back from Blizzard so I was simply wondering if those who attended Blizzcon (for the whole event) have received any such Beta Key or not.
Thanks!

They are just starting closed beta now, and I was under the impression it's invite only. I doubt they'll invite all the blizzcon attendees to it - but that's a possibility I guess.
I suspect after some time in closed beta, with invited playtesters, they'll widen the range a bit, and probably invite Blizzcon attendees before the open beta.
That's just a hunch though.

Does anyone have any idea about the number of players that will get to play the beta initially ? They said they wanted to gather a lot of feedback, so maybe they'll open the beta a bit more than usual ?
|
They also said the beta would run for a considerable amount of time, which to me suggests they'll introduce players over time, with the initial batch not being particularly large.
Time will tell though

I've been thinking about this as well in the last few days, as I attended the WCS finals (one of the highlights of my year!). I have no idea when those invites will go out, but I agree with hZCube on what is likely to happen.

I hope that goes for virtual tickets too! I can't wait!

I got Hots beta about 2 weeks after it launched so if they start with pros only I would suspect they will start adding other people in that same time frame. Assuming they start with pros only.

They don't start with pros only haha. They won't have only 200 people playing the beta for 2 weeks. Should at least be a few thousand, or otherwise laddering won't work at all.

Honestly if they were smart (diablo 3 and sc2 are making me think they are not anymore) they would give 1st wave to everyone in top 100 gm, 200 for kr. If they would have done that and mentioned it, it would have made the ladders far more active and would provide better feedback IMO. and yeah ladder wouldnt work because my average search time is 6-10 minutes and that's with a full player pool.

So there's still hope for virtual ticket holders!

Honestly, I half hope they say "screw it" and make it an open beta. It's not like they need to test network/server stability anymore.

: sits staring at inbox hoping for a beta key :

If they just gave it to pro's alot of the top tier ones wouldn't have time for beta since they need to keep practicing for HOTS tournaments.

No worries, just make sure all the Americans are invited.

According to this http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/blog/18486736
I bought tickets to last year’s BlizzCon/WCS Global Finals—when can I expect my beta invite? Beta invites are coming out in waves to ensure the stability of servers, gameplay, and matchmaking. Those who bought tickets to BlizzCon 2014 or the StarCraft II WCS 2014 Global Finals, as well as BlizzCon 2014 Virtual Ticket holders, will be granted priority access to the closed beta before those who opted in for beta access. Note that due to the nature of account flagging, only the registered email used to purchased the tickets online will be able to access the beta test, regardless of how many tickets were purchased.
I got a BlizzCon 2014 Virtual Ticket—do I get beta access? Yes, we’ll be granting beta access to those who purchased a BlizzCon 2014 Virtual Ticket or redeemed one on their Battle.net account. See above.
Virtual Ticket holders will get priority access, but when exactlyis the question? Good luck everyone!

Now it doesn't look like a waste of money to a hearthstone cardback I hope that they will send out the second wave really soon.
