You can't say it's just BM... IT IS ALMOST ALWAYS BY ACCIDENT! If people want to BM they don't just do a quick pause and leave instantly because that does nothing, it doesn't even annoy the other person. They'll flame or make you kill all their buildings, etc.

They would have to press f10 then leave the game themselves (it still counted as a win for them). For people who didn't know this, it was very counterintuitive to have to 'leave' a game they had won. Blizzard fixed this in a patch ages ago. I doubt it's bm at this point, most likely just misclicks. This. At one point too it didn't tell you that the other person had left the game (while the game was paused) so when you unpaused the game it then gave you the victory screen.

Ie. the losing opponent is saying with said 'pause' that you didn't indeed deserve the victory...it was luck! For said opponent was being texted or misclicked his control group of mutas or he wasn't actually trying. And said opponent wants you to know that even in victory you don't have control over him, because he goddamnit his own man, not swayed by a computer game and fully aware that victory in a single game with two players and no observers matters little to anyone but said two players, and he is above all pettiness. So he pauses before resigning to let you, the victory take this in, before you're just another random opponent of his (and your) list. He pauses so you know he is human and deserving as victory as you, a fellow human. (I guess that ended not really where it started.)

Why the fuck does everyone keep saying this? WHO CARES? That was a long time ago, it has nothing to do with why people pause now. That's gone.

Not that I disagree with you personally--but just because it was patched does not mean there aren't players who still think that this is what happens since they don't keep track of patch notes or SC2 news.

People do it now because they have to just get a little fucking with people in since their precious egos can't handle losing a 1v1 game

He would then type "______ has left the game" Its only happened twice where his opponent left. The first time he did it, and one other time a year later. He held on to the practice ever since in the off chance of a free win.

Avilo is one of the rare ones who always does it on purpose. The vast majority of the time it's just an accident =)

It was that the "Surrender" button used to be positioned such that it was easy to accidentally click it when you were trying to unpause, especially if your opponent resumed the game before you click. This has since been corrected, but the tradition remains. I honestly think people get way to worked up about it. You're not flaming your opponent, you're not wasting their time by making them kill all your buildings. It's simply a small thing some people do to let off a bit of steam.

I do it to signify it was a poor game it's like my calling card. Some people leave a beautiful violet rose, others leave chocolates. I pause the game so that my opponent can pause and reflect upon their fullNa-ness, and contemplate their life choices more carefully in the future. + Show Spoiler + I do it cuz i'm mad n salty that i played poorly heuheu

There. He admitted that he gets salty when he loses, and that sometimes he plays badly. Are all you haters happy? + Show Spoiler + Of course they're not happy. I forgot that people on the internet are perfect: they never get salty, they never rage, they never have bad days, and they never go on tilt. Must be awesome to be a person on the internet!
