Hey, TeamLiquid! I'm a fairly new caster who's been playing Starcraft since launch day for the original game. Went out with four friends, bought it, came home and burned four copies and LAN partied far into the night.
Today, I'm a dad with three kids who still plays SC2, and loves watching the pros in tournaments like Dreamhack and the Gfinity Masters series. I especially loved VODs from Husky and Day[9], and was really sad when both of them virtually abandoned SC2 for other projects.
So I figured, hey, why not try casting SC2? It was rough going early on, but I bought a Blue Yeti microphone, changed up my casting style, got feedback from others, and now I feel like my casts are a good blend of entertainment, education and excitement.
Give me a shot! Here's a recent match I cast between Bunny and Patience from Gfinity Spring Masters II!
You can find all of my casts on my YouTube channel.
I'd like to see him on the casting list his videos are really good and regular, as good as HD was in his prime if not better.
I prefer him to basetrade.tv too, he's very knowledgeable and entertaining. I don't really know what else to say, it's just all good things, I had a criticism and he changed to reflect that. Give the guy a chance, lord knows SC2 could do with more coverage.
Indeed. his guys knows how to cast. I found his casts very entertaining and with great knowledge of the game. If this were a Democracy, I would vote on him for sure.
Are you intentionally trying to copy Husky in style or is that coincidental? Because either way it's deeply annoying. Husky worked because he was Husky. I don't want or need another Husky.

Believe me, I know plenty of people are glad Husky is gone. But you have to admit he brought a lot of new people to SC2, and his enthusiasm was attractive to many.
To answer your question, it's a bit of both. My natural style is pretty upbeat, but as Husky was the first caster I ever came across, his style has undeniably influenced mine.
But again, I get that it's not for everyone. Thanks for watching anyway.
Well I like the casting, nice voice, clearly spoken, no artificial overhyping or anything and overall it just seems really well rounded. Only the intro reminds me of Husky, which is fine. It kinda feels like an homage .
Sadly I never really watched replay casts on YT, I want to watch sc2 live, but I hope you are successful! I certainly think you are good at it .

Thanks for the love! How about you throw me a sub, and then, if you're ever in the mood for a VOD, you know where to find me?

Haha! Is that a thing? That's probably a thing, but I'm too lazy to Google it.
Also worried.
You mean this?
NAW, THAT'S TOTALLY NORMAL
Suuuper normal. I admit I may have generally asked for some love over here at TL. But hey, what's a little moderately planned grass roots campaigning between friends?

Hi, I watched the cast you posted here for a bit but stopped at ~5 minutes into video. You sound like a good caster but personally not for me. I know that casting by yourself is a lot of work to both obs and commentate but with your cast I felt like I was always behind/missing the game as it was happening, and that got frustrating.
Maybe you could watch the game you're going to cast once before casting it so you have an idea of what you want to talk about?
Cheers otherwise, thx for putting out more content.

Thanks for the feedback, teamamerica. I'll work more on keeping up with the action, though I feel like maybe this cast was a a bit of an outlier? If you feel like it, check one of my other uploads and see if it's different.
In other news, a TL forum member recently messaged me and asked if I'd be willing to cast his promotion to Masters game. I'm always willing to cast interesting or important games from the SC2 community, so here it is!
Just a quick update: I finally got into the LOTV beta and have been posting daily LOTV casts as well as HOTS stuff. Here's a subscriber-submitted replay from the beta:
