A truly historic event in an age where perhaps too many acts called as such, today the American Supreme Court ruled that same-sex marriage is a constitutional right, making it legal across all 50 states and knocking down state bans country-wide. You can find the full text of the ruling here which includes a link to Obama’s statement regarding the decision.
Other countries where it’s been legalized since last year’s TL pride week:- Ireland voted to legalize it on May 20, no date set for when it will be passed into law.
- Luxembourg legalized it on January 1st.
- Scotland legalized it on December 16th.
- The Finnish parliament passed a bill on 12th December which was signed by the President on the 20th of February and the law will take effect on March 1st 2017.
The TeamLiquid community has always strived to provide an inclusive place for people of all genders, beliefs, ethnicities, and sexualities to share their passion for games and the competitive scenes around them. We always aim to reduce hate speech and harassment in-game and look to a future of acceptance and equality. Part of the joy of games is that it separates us from physical and cultural borders, giving us an opportunity to play together. We are all equal on the field of play, and maybe we should all be equal off it too.
With that we hope you all want to join us in celebrating the diversity of our community, and the progress towards equality in the world around us.

Hell yes! I know that not everyone on TL is American but regardless of where you live, I think everyone can appreciate the fact that so many people finally gained the respect they deserve today! And I think everyone can admire the resolve of those who fought to get to this point.

It's nice to see the many esports organizations embrace this milestone.

What a time to be alive in the US. I was alive for the first black president AND the legalization of same-sex marriage. 50 years ago neither would have seemed plausible.

Apparently he just broke out in Amazing Grace during the eulogy and knocked it out of the park. The man is having a good week.

I certainly like that TL rainbow logo. And it's cool that people are able to marry in in yet another country without needing to worry about the gender. I'm not gay but I sure find it cool that people are able to do whatever they want with their lives without arbitrary desicions.
But..I fail to realize how this is a "truly historical event" for anyone that isn't in the US. It may be if it was the first time it is legalized in a country but it isn't.
Either way I applaud the organization stance on it. Since TL is all abut equality I also hope they treat this topic equally, with the same importance, when other countries make it legal too.
