Kendric here. Some of you may know me from my "Epic Plays of the Week" series, and it's my pleasure to present to you my new format. Well, truth be told it's basically just me playing some Hero League (Rank 1). However, I try to explain and entertain as much as possible.
Let me know what you think of it and thank you for watching of course.
Thanks- I enjoyed watching these! Very informative and entertaining.
On Johanna, I understand you were going for a more tanky build, but I can't pass up Knight Takes Pawn on Tier 1 anymore in solo queue. The wave clear just saves so much time so you can do other stuff. Also, the effect works on Anub's beetles, right?
no Knight Takes Pawn with Johanna?? That is really weird, that is a huge reason she's good in the first place. Regen master and Reinforce are fine talents and there can be some cases you might want them but 95% of the time you should be going Knight Takes Pawn really as the laning potential you get from it is HUGE. Especially a standard trilane map where you have 2 other heroes that lack laning quality (rehgar and zeratul in this case) you pretty much need to take it. It let's you clear quickly giving openings for yourself or others to rotate more and get advantages. Furthermore it gives your team a good merc hero which you'd otherwise not really have (sylv is ok at doing giants, mediocre at doing knights).
Only case i'd deviate from Knight Takes Pawn really is for example a matchup where we have great laning/merc capabilities already and Reinforce happens to be very well positioned, for example beign up against some of hammer, zeratul, butcher and nova. Regen master is a decent talent but Laws of Hope tends to give that trickle of regeneration already anyway and is only great if you also go Amplified Healing, which can beat out laws of hope but only with some good heal setup (dual healer setup basically).
Knight takes pawn is just huge as it turns johanna into (one of) the best laner in the game early on considering how tanky she is and how mana efficient it clears waves. Hero league especially where the #1 mistake of people is to not lane properly it's HUGE to be able to correct for that. That's why TLV were so dominant, why abathur does quite well and other heroes that are good in high level play but lack lane presence (malf and muradin for example) tend to do poor. People in hero league soloQ don't think about laning and soaking xp properly and randomly leave lanes all the time. It's highly frustating to know the best way to help your team is just get that xp in but you're left to do it when playing someone like malf or muradin who take ages to do it and are better around the team. But of course players all like to gank and merc randomly so they leave xp lying around which you must pick up as better player. That's where Knight takes pawn shines, just always take it unless you really know your team is good enough to take care of xp soaking well enough.
Edit: lots of weird plays I find in the game by the way, like using shield glare on creeps (which is awful) and throwing pots behind the wall when there are several of them defending instead of just safely putting it outside the gate. To be frank, game was quite low quality I found
Hey MotherFox! Yes, Benediction is definitely my Go-To-Talent if the enemy team is not heavy on Basic Attack Damage.
I think Benediction is generally stronger on your healing abilities, especially Holy Light. But depending on the situation a double stun can work wonders!
Just FYI, you don't drain more life on a high hp target with leoric, you only do more damage.
Also you might want to look at how you soak lanes in your games a bit more, you randomly run away a couple times just before the wave runs into your towers. While with a good clearer like Leoric you could easily get the wave first and then move over.
Thank you Hildegard. I decided to include losses as well to keep things more interesting and exciting, as otherwise the viewers would always know how the game would end anyway. Appreciate the kind words!
We're back in Hero League, this time rocking Tyrael, the Archangel of Justice. He was heavily requested by a couple of viewers, so I hope you're gonna enjoy the video!
