1. What's your grip style? Claw Grip
2. What's your sensitivity? 1600 DPi
3. What's your maximum budget? Don't mind that much about price
4. Do you want additional buttons? No - I really dislike side buttons as i press them on accident
5. What games do you play? Mostly Starcraft 2
6. Do you mind about prediction? I'm not sure how much this matter for me, but I don't want a lot
7. Other relevant information: I'm a left handed gamer, the mouse i've used the most is kinzu v2 pro which fits my hand quite well, but the one I was using kinda started wearing out, I had another one as a backup but the left click on that mouse was really hard to press, I was thinking of getting the kinzu V3 but i'm afraid whether the clicks will be good or not. I also tried 2 different abyssus before kinzu but the clicks were too hard for me to press, i'm generally just scared of razer. I was trying to look for a zowie mico as well, but can't find any in UK Any help would be appreciated!

you could try the logitech g100s or the amazonbasics 3 button usb mouse.

I'd look into the new abyssus if you've only tried the old ones. I haven't tried the new kinzu. Mico is hard to find anywhere nowdays.

So I'm still using a g9x without the shell, and I love it for Starcraft, but I fear for the day when it gives up as it seems really hard to find any new ones. I was looking at logitech g302/303 and was wondering if someone has any experience with them compared to the g9x; mainly in the case of shape/size/weight, click/switch feel and sensor quality.
|
I was in same spot as you, except I switched to LoL a year+ ago.
Clicks are stiffer/louder on the G303, but more consistent feeling. Sensor accuracy feel subjectively better. I switched from 1800dpi on g9x to 1600 on G303. The mouse is a little bigger, so your grip will have to change accordingly. Took me like 48 hours to get comfortable on it, and then like a couple weeks to get fully accustomed to it. That shouldn't really be different than transitioning from one mouse to another, though.

Hmm, are the clicks a lot stiffer? I've tried a Zowie FK1, and really liked it for CS:GO, but the clicks felt way too spunge-y and stiff for Starcraft.
And it's still quite a small mouse right? Abyssus size-ish?
|
I would describe the clicks as more solid+stiff than spongey. I play like 1 game of SC2 a month and it doesn't feel particularly tiresome or anything like that.
My mouse history includes g9x, g1, g100s, and mico. The G303 is bulkier than all of them, but I was still able to manage.
You can easily compare the dimensions of the G303 to any mouse on Wo1fwood's chart.

303 clicks are a medium stiffness IMO, but they have a very consistent force and travel distance (which is quite low)
|
The G303 clicks are much much much softer than the FK1 ones, to the point where I kept clicking accidentally from time to time after I switched from one to another. The G303 clicks are great though, and it's a great mouse overall if you can get used to the shape.

fk1 has very heavy clicks, i don't click on g303 accidentally while i accidental clicked a lot on my deathadder and xornet

My g303 lens wobble has become more noticable now

logitech support is usually pretty decent
you're well within the warranty period so can probably just call them up

They are cool with replacing hardware, but man are they slow to reply to RMA tickets.

last thing i want is a 3 week rma to get a mouse back which develops the same issue
it's not much, just like a 5-10 pixel bounceback at most after you stop a sharp motion but it's noticable. I'm at 900dpi now rather than 600 so it's more noticable too
doesn't take much wobble to be an issue when a 1/900'th of an inch movement is shown on screen
|
wow you are a power user
maybe my G303 has the issue too and I'm just slow to notice it?

it has visible and audible symptoms so it's not that hard to miss, it's just a relatively small issue so it's a mild annoyance if your particular mouse isn't in good condition any more. It wasn't really noticable at all when i was playing at 600dpi and it wasn't rattling as badly
There is always SOMETHING wrong with a mouse. They are the worst of murphy's law

My g100s had a squeaky left click. I uploaded a short video and linked it in the RMA ticket. They sent me a replacement which had the same problem after a couple days, but I was able to keep my original mouse. I wasn't able to get a third though, and had to send the initial replacement mouse back (at no charge of my own). It my be worth a shot to see if they send you a replacement G303.

I had been using a g9x without a shell. It just died.
Any good replacement?

1. What's your grip style? fingertip 2. What's your sensitivity? 1200dpi, thinking about readjusting to 1400 or even 1600 since I haven't played much fps in a while 3. What's your maximum budget? N/a 4. Do you want additional buttons? I like to have 2 thumb buttons, but I can't stand having buttons on the other side of the mouse. Been using the steelseries sensei for a few years and the number of times I've accidentally pressed those is absurd. 5. What games do you play? Dota, path of exile, might get back into sc2 one day 6. Do you mind angle snapping? Do not want 7. Other Not looking for any fancy bells or whistles, I just want the best mouse accuracy possible. Would prefer not having to deal with annoying software like ss engine. Don't need any kind of macro capability or anything like that. Ive used the ss sensei for years and its treated me well, but i think I was more accurate with the g9 and intellimouse I had before that, though that might also be because I just had a lot more time to play when I was younger. Shape-wise the sensei suits me pretty well. Also don't really want metallic or glossy plastic finishes.

Sounds like both you need the G303.
Beware of the rattle issue though.
