The best thing about Murky is that you are space creator, you are abusing the crap out of enemy team and you are pissing them off so much that they start to overextend just to chase you, waste a ton of mana and abilities just to die while you are back in 5 seconds. I literally burst into laughter when I see opponents wasting heroic abilities to kill me.
I would go as far as saying that some aspects of Murky are quite OP.
I agree with everything you said !! And I'd like to add the fun of killing Kael or Jaina when they try to defend your push. Octo > assassins :D
I didn't play Murky in HL since patch. I mostly played him in HL when you could join with a 5 player team. I have ~140 games and went to rank 5 as well. Still have to do some playcement matches in HL because I mostly played teamleague since the new patch.

Aba + Murky is a siiiiiick combo.

Don't Pre-pick and go afk until 40 seconds into the game. Like ever.

just lost a coop just wanting to do my daily and get the last goblins. And having fun on Tyrande. 1 was 1v2 midlane. Against Stitches Tassadar bot, knew they would leave for mercs, so figured I could hold on. I mean Johanna and Tassadar were in one lane against Valla. And Uther Illidan against Sonja and Malf.
Sadly the Valla bot pushed Johanna and Tassadar to our towers. And it took them until level 16 ? to reach the keep. Where the bots began their 5 push down there. Until then they never left the lane. At one point they got a 3 push with sieges there, so I helped out.
From level 11 till 16 they had no bot on their lane.
Meanwhile Uther and Illidan did their best to get Tributes against 2 or 4 guys. And somehow they managed to not die. We could snag Tributes though when we were first and got a kill on the first bot arriving. It was the first game I lost were no one was feeding. It was enough to let the bosses get half of the objectives and mercs and pushing as 5. I really like that bots now can captures boss camps !
I probably should have stayed middle lane and abuse the AI defense mechanic >.< .
Oh as for the Murky > assassin comment. Raynor is now even more badass against Murky. Since the patch Puffer Fish is even easier to kill and Octo grab immunity already on 13 ! It is so nice when some of your team also know this and don't mind doing rotations so I can deny Murky.

You are actually right, there are assassins which can handle Murky quite well. Falstad for example can escape with his E in the slight second where octo grab ends and the pufferfish explodes. Timing is everything here for both players :p
Raynor is also a good example. If I get a good Raynor who targets my pufferfish while laning I try to switch asap to get someone else, no matter if just worse as a player or hero.
Jainas figured out when to use their ice block as well. I think Kael is really the easiest to kill. His only choice is to use his stun and run...
But I agree with many people on higher levels that success with Murky is often a result of people not knowing how to play against him.

Raynor on our HL team: Doesn't do anything for the first 1/2 of the game (except talk), then disconnects a few times, and then comes back and just sits at the core.
Everyone else: wtf Raynor? Raynor: Dude relax, it's just a game lololol nerds
It pisses me off so much when someone who throws the game just deflects at how no one should care about losing.

I played yesterday in HL vs some guys who were so bad, the Nazeebo AI (one of them disconnected) was playing above the team level. I'm rank 15, when I play HL I don't expect people to die 2 times more than the AI... Nazeebo AI ended with 3 deaths, the other guys ended with 6 or 7 death each except one who died once. The Nazeebo AI countered my pufferfish a few times (the AI always do that), none of them ever killed my fish...
Man if it would have been my team, I'd have went sooooo mad.

The thing I love the most is to kill cocky, overextending Zeratuls, Novas and Illidans, and with Trace's 1v1 build you can pretty much solo majority of heroes in the game. Even though they can see your talents, people don't expect from you to get Envenom and Blood for Blood.

Ok so now Blizzard is trolling me with dailies. Over the last 10 days, I think I received 7 "Play as ROLE" quests. 1 "play 8 games" and 2 "play as Warcraft/Starcraft" quests. So I can almost never do two quests in one game. Blizzard, you meanie! ^^

If I have a Hero that can't kill Puffer Fish, I usually don't bother. Everytime I tried ... team mates just needing to hit it once standing right beside it, didn't bother. Oh I have to test if I can Hydra the Pufferfish now.
I wonder if they use the strongest AI when its finished to replace players. Because some Hero AIs are damn unfair because of their inhuman reflexes. I doubt low level players could handle them ^^;

Don't hydra the pufferfish! :-D I think Zagara can auto attack destroy the fish in 3 hits though but you have to be fast on your first hit. Murky gain advantage when you waste mana because sooner or later you'll have to leave the lane, and when you loose health because he doesn't have to heal (if you see a murky use its hearthstone for heal please insult him for me).

i don't get that... as far as i understand this is perfect to do always 2 quests at the same time, sometimes even all 3. play as a warcraft/starcraft as a tank/supp/dps 8 games in a row and tadaaa... you are rich
Murky: Love him, just love him. Had the weirdest and most fun games with him, like invincible Murky with a hat, murky monster pushing with zaga, and so on. Note that those games all happend in HL Rank 12ish But if someone easily kills your puffer, beeing murky sucks quite hard...
Murgl Murgl ^_^

If you have "Play as warrior" and "Play as support" you can't do both. Ideally you receive 3 - 4 quest of each type: - Play as role - Play as franchise (warcraft / starcraft / diablo) - Play / Win X games I queue lots of "play as role". I don't lose money though since I never let the quest pile up too much but I'd like to be able to clear them faster to focus on my main heroes. That's not a big rage, it's just I feel I'm trolled by Blizzard.

The reconnect system is so shitty that it's horrible to disconnect due to an internet crash.
It takes 5 minute to reboot your internet, and 5 minutes to come back into the game. gj blizzard

Don't overestimate Murky though. Whenever I play Kerrigan and he's in my lane, he rarely does well. I'll wait with landing the combo until I force out a bubble, which isn't that hard to do and then I'll follow Murky and land the combo just as the bubble ends. As long as you don't overextend there isn't much an early game Murky can do against CC Heroes.
Octograb is definitely something to watch out for, no doubt, but certain Heroes (especially in the early game) can take Murky apart as long as they play it smart and don't overextend. Which, granted, a lot of assassins still do. He does gain strength in the late game but I think being careful and not underestimating Murky can go a long way in dealing with him.

As with any hero, murkys need to be aware of their weaknesses and signal for lane switches if they can't handle the person they paired against. When I play valla, I love it when murkys don't do this since murky can't really stand up 1v1 to a good valla until level 10. [and even then it's a bit of a gamble.]

Yes, but there are many heroes that completely destroy him in the early game. Mid - late game is where he shines. On top of that, you really aren't getting much by killing him as long as he has an egg and doesn't feed pointlessly.
And about the Kerrigan, the biggest problem about her is that her Ravage takes a good chunk of your HP but her combo is quite easy to dodge if you are aware that it's coming.

I do AI games now just to finish quests. My AI games take no more than 9-12 minutes
Except I just had a game go 19 minutes. Reason... a Jaina on my team constantly standing in close proximity (practically beside) groups of 3-5 of the opponents then just casting the spells or right clicking... i think she had more deaths than takedowns. I tell her to stop after third death, but nope still doing the same thing. I lay into her, and one of my teammates (Uther) tell me to stop because she's probably a newb and we've all been in that situation before and "tank mages exist"... nope I've never been in that situation before you idiot where I don't learn from my mistakes quickly, and fuck you idiot Uther anyone with a brain who plays these types of games quickly learns dying is bad, and wtf is this "tank mages exist" statement dumbass?... then you have the audacity to say "we don't need players with your attitude on HotS", like honestly go fuck off I'm just trying to finish my game ASAP as I usually do in AI games. Consistently dying stupidly with a non-tank hero who should have sat back while the tanks take the damage is worth enough to be called out upon... weak ass sheltered shit like Uther can go blow off

was literally 40 points away from rank 1 HL and went on a huge losing streak. Now I'm about to drop to lv 5 -______- edit: and down to lv 5

Any chance he was being sarcastic or trolling you ? I find myself trolling my mates in chat when they're too aggressive (not in ranked of course). If not it was indeed plain stupid.
Ok, 6th or 7th day where I only get play as assassin/warrior/support/specialist quest, so I've finally failed to clear them all and wasted a quest today. I really feel I'm trolled hard by Blizzard. I guess tomorrow I'll have "play as support" again.
