That sucks but imo it's just waiting to happen with Afreeca streaming habits. It's hard to keep tabs on all streams 24/7.

So what do you do in these situations? You create a new accounts? It kinda sucks to refollow the new streams because the old ones were banned. But I guess there is no way around it...

If it's the former, Twitch probably won't bother to reconsider since the streams are too small.

We will temporarily migrate to tempsnip2, tempsnip3, tempsnip4 channels until a proper solution will be found with the original channels in order not to receive permanent bans on remaining snipealot channels. In my estimation tempsnip channels will be in use for 2-3 months if not banned by twitch earlier (today tempsnip2 and tempsnip3 already received a 24 hours suspension for "non-gaming content"). It's pretty strange because the restreams were running for several years with only a few suspensions. And now within a 48 hours period we've got 4 channels suspended and 1 banned in a row. However there are many other channels on twitch with lots of non-gaming content, i.e. concerts, anime talk-shows and so on. I think snipealot restream channels should not be treated strictly by twitch as it's 24/7 restream, it's Korean gaming culture which is mostly gaming related content, it's one of a few StarCraft: Brood War resorts at the moment.

I'm guessing they are getting mad about afreeca streaming sport based content.

I remember during the world cup 2014 that snipealot had some issues, too, whenever a streamer being restreamed by snipealot was watching (hence streaming) the soccer games. Maybe twitch will chill from july 11th onward till next world cup in 2018

twitch.tv/tempsnip4 is now banned
This time it's a new reason, different from recent ones:
The content you streamed and archived on Twitch at www.twitch.tv/tempsnip4 was the subject of a takedown notice we received from AfreecaTV pursuant to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA"). This organization has asserted that it owns this content and that you streamed that content on Twitch without permission to do so. Due to repeated DMCA infringements, we have removed your channel from the site.
We don't understand clear reasons for this anti-BroodWar restreaming campaign. The idea of restream is mostly simply technical. Because of mediocre network connection with AfreecaTV servers, viewers outside South Korea are unable to watch Korean StarCraft: Brood War streams. We could use existing AfreecaTV player, but with english chat if it worked smoothly. However it does not.
Our only interest is in StarCraft: Brood War gaming. Of course, the rights of restreamed content belong to AfreecaTV, nobody will argue about this fact. But AfreecaTV gets only benefits from restreams which advertise it making it available for viewers with unstable network connection to South Korea. Why closing channels which don't do any harm to both Twitch and AfreecaTV, which are logically same as viewing AfreecaTV directly, but different in technical aspects?
What we can do:- Disabling twitch archive feature. And rely only on temporarily saved records of games somewhere else (something that Cadical does). It just reduces the chance to get banned.
- Programmatically autodetect non-gaming content. This will degrade viewing experience, depending on action taken when non-gaming content is autodetected.
- Write an open letter to both Twitch and AfreecaTV explaining the need of restreams for StarCraft: Brood War community. Admit that content belongs to AfreecaTV and there may be non-gaming content in Twitch terms. But these facts are not the object of restreams and the focus is put on making Korean StarCraft: Brood War scene accessible to others in spite of network congestion.

You have nothing to lose by trying to settle with afeeca, meanwhile I suggest you invoke the regulatory power of the viewers to avoid the removal of a new temporary account: +appoint more oldtimer regulars with bj-switch control of the bot to maximize the chance of someone being available to switch away from unwanted content like euro 2016. +configure the bot to stop streaming once there's no regular viewer in the chat, and leave a note in the description to encourage new viewers to register as regulars, letting them know that this will switch the channel online if the chat happens to be deserted. (probably difficult if not impossible to implement.. still seems easier than your 2nd bulletpoint though)

Hi all,
I'm wondering are there any news about Snipealot streams on twitch. I'm checking almost every day and I dont see them yet. Euro is over, snipealots are banned - is Alex panning on restreaming on new channels? Thx

Thx Two posts above, Alex pointed out that this time Afreeca had the snipe streams banned which is different from the previous Euro bans.
I wonder if snipe can be transferred to Afreeca global?

Today Twitch banned tempsnip2 channel for Violation of Creative Conduct. However the stream resided not in Creative category, but in Gaming. So this cannot be applicable.
My previous emails to Twitch received only one answer, stating that the previous ban of tempsnip2 was because of Non-Endemic content. Which is also not clear, as content was really Gaming. And all requests of exact video parts which resulted in suspension remain with no answer.
Twitch having even Social Eating officially allowed still bans our channels

I hope something is figured out about these streams because afreeca is completely unwatchable to me on the westcoast. I wish afreeca would at least embed the streams on the global site (even though i don't know if this site works better).

Currently you can watch a testing hitbox.tv/tempsnip2 channel.

hitbox for the comeback wow

hitbox.tv/tempsnip1 is up (though chat commands don't work yet as hitbox uses another chat subsystem - websockets instead of IRC)
