Matcherino OSC Sponsorship Announcement!
The OSC team are happy to announce a new key partner coming on board to support the League in 2016/17.
Please welcome Matcherino!
Matcherino is a crowdfunding platform for eSports, whose system provides tournament organizers, players and fans with the tools to create great events! Prize pools are sourced for players, generating more opportunities for quality tournaments with recognized professional players. The site also allows organisers to identify, acknowledge and reward those who offer the most support/activity across their events! Twitch accounts are used so fans can easily engage with live events, and players can easily access their winnings! With Matcherino, everybody wins!
Together (alongside our other great sponsors), we will work to grow the sport within our home regions and internationally. With the support of our sponsors, we will build on and implement new OSC player rewards across the League ($200,000+ given out to players in 2016!), provide an ongoing narrative throughout the year, and show countless entertaining games for the fans and starcraft community to enjoy!

Statement from Matcherino:
"We’re very excited to be partnering up with the OSC league. Matcherino - though new - has already benefited a number of tournaments both in the Starcraft community and elsewhere. Our goal is to help provide the best content possible by giving tools to tournament organizers so that they can raise funds and engage their viewers. In turn, we hope to help the players participating in OSC get more money faster while giving cool rewards to the viewers who help fund the league.
We’re looking forward to the future with OSC and a special thank you to all who have helped this partnership happen. Be sure to check out Matcherino.com to see what rewards you can buy and what tournaments are happening!"

Statement from OSC:
"We’re really excited about this partnership! The 2016 season has already been record breaking for us, and now adding Matcherino's support alongside our other great partners, it should see us push for even bigger in 2016/17!"
As a tournament organizer myself, i can attest to the ease and benefits of running an event through the site. Player payments are quick and easy. The system incorporates community interaction and passion, which is what we're all about at the OSC! We are passionate community members, who put on community events. Matcherino will help us provide increased support across all OSC partnered events, which is a big win not only for those events, but more importantly the players and fans of the sport!
- Andrew Eddie Edwards, OSC Executive Director
What is OSC?
The Oseanic StarCraft 2 Championship (OSC) is an non-profit online sports league, that supports and showcases the best talent from the Oceanic, South East Asian, North American, Latin American and Chinese regions! Many events are open, so we have a great mix of the best local and world class players!
The League is a conglomeration of numerous partnered tournaments, investors and community members who have united to share their time, skills, resources, data and assets, to create a rapidly growing ongoing event for players to compete in on a daily basis! OSC is run by the community for the community!
The league follows a yearly season format, where players earn points for placing highly in all partnered tournaments, along with points acquired through bonuses and challenge matches. These points and player data act to form the OSC World Rankings and seeding system.
In 2016 we are tracking for a $200,000 season!
Current Rankings can be viewed here.
At the end of the yearly season, the top 50 players ranked via the OSC World Rankings are invited to play in the revered OSC Finals, where we determine our yearly champion! Every player who plays in the finals gets paid!
We have designed a finals format which rewards the players who finish highly in the World Rankings, as they have shown a combination of results and regular participation throughout the year, and deserve rewards for their efforts. Thus seeding and competition for position within the rankings is highly important, and ensures ongoing player activity and interest!
Solar was 2015's Champion, taking out the $5000 finals series.
GuMiho was 2014's Champion, taking out the $3500 finals series.
PiG was 2013's Champion, taking out the $2100 finals series.
Factors which influence how many OSC points tournaments are allocated include: prizepool, format, frequency, open qualifiers and region locking.
