He played poorly in the majority of his games (and not just against Neeb) It's like trying to spell balance solely from looking at Byun vs Dear or Byun vs sOs. Does he make liberators look absurdly strong? Yes. But against players who react accordingly are they really that strong? They're still strong, but I don't think they're overpowered. I'm not saying that Protoss doesn't have a lot of openings that you have to defend well or else die instantly, but I'm just saying that trying to pull balance from Rogue's games won't accomplish much. You should probably read that you're replying to. Congrats to Neeb. Rogue played crap the entire night IMO and deservedly goes out last place. He's definitely had moments of 'creativity' this year, but overall he's been quite a let down compared of last year. You can also see that his builds really aren't too solid at all, and were quite a gamble. I'm happy Neeb was able to expose that with just clean, solid play. Zest was...okay. I've seen him play worse tbh. He had some seriously derpy moments, particular with his adepts, but lol that's sort of Zest's trademark at this point. Need looked rock solid throughout the whole series. Neeb didn't play out of his mind or anything like that. Which in fact, is almost the best part about it, he didn't need to show anything special. Neeb was able to play solid, well crafted and well executed builds which was enough to dominate both Rogue and Zest. It feels good when a foreigner can just play solid and beat Koreans, really gave me flashbacks to the days of Naniwa in Korea. Byun...poor guy. Byun was a bit off today IMO, still played okay but made some game-losing mistakes and got a bit unlucky at some points. Zest deserved his victories against him for sure though. Even Byun's best game, the KSS one, he was quite sloppy and really shouldn't have lost that tank like that. Good analysis.
To my disappointment, Rogue played really bad today. Generally for this year, I am not that disappointed by his performances ... well, in individual tournaments, there were only 4 of them and he lost all of them. But there were others who did the same. I will remember Rogue as the ace of Jin Air 2016, who in times, when all Zergs were losing to anyone, he was able to beat in ace matches the best players on the planet. He was the one, who found and popularized the ways how to beat both Terrans and Protosses and he has destroyed each other Zerg (except Nerchio, who really played seriously well in that match). So, I am sad for Rogue today, but not disappointed for 2016. Even when by getting so easily destroyed today, he has fallen in my ranking from the world's second best Zerg to the third place.
Zest was playing bad against Neeb. Not by making mistakes, but instead of playing a normal long macro game, where both would have the same chances, he was trying to play an aggressive game. And Neeb just defended the aggression and then was economically in a much better situation. Had Zest played a normal macro game, that would show us the real skill level of both players. But he is through anyway ...
Neeb of course played perfectly and as you mentioned ... his victories were almost effortless ...
And ByuN ... is just overrated :-)

From this day on i will have faith in non korean starcraft players, they are awesome and work very hard.

No, I think it just means that you need a better guarantee that you will not lose the bet. Like, for example. sig bet that no foreigners will get out of group B, and I'm sure you will win that bet.

Why are the results not updated? Strange.
Congrats to Neeb, bummed about Byun but so happy he still won GSL.

If you like seeing a foreigner bop a Korean with nice micro, the Rouge/Neeb series is good, and a pretty good series is the Zest/Neeb series.

The best game of the night was probably Neeb vs Zest on New Gettysburg, but none of the games were exceptional.
