1.18 is coming out soon, what server is everyone gonna play on? Are Europeans gonna play on EU or are we all gonna play on US East/West? Which players/teams are planning on making Fish their main server?
I'm not sure whether or not bnet is gonna have a /chs all feature, hopefully it does so we can easily find chat channels. If it doesn't i'll put together a list of channels so people know where to go, feel free to post your teams chat channel and your main server (hopefully everyone ends up playing on the same b.net server). I'll update the OP with everyone's info.
On a side note i think it's kinda dumb that we don't have a single centralized server/gateway like ICCup or Fish on bnet. I'm not sure the player base is gonna be big enough to support multiple servers but i guess we'll see. Ideally it would be best if we had a single server with a strong player base so we could have a lot of pub games and higher quality matchmaking games, that would also create a close knit community .
Fish:
Op TL (main server meet up channel) iFU-
US East:
Clan X17 (main meetup channel) )v( (teamplay community) Tiny (french speaking community) op [SK]
Europe:
Op moo (main server meet up channel) op bg (bulgarian community)
US West:
op ugl (fastest map community) op dM-
Korea Op TL (main server meet up channel)
ShieldBattery: (still in beta)

i wonder if n.stop) is still around. i'd likely just chill on the TL channel

It might be easier to just go with Discord instead of bouncing between chats on Bnet and Fish.

Dunno, i view discord as more of a private thing and not everyone has it installed. Bnet chat channels are public and they're accessible to everyone.

I assume op tot) will be making a return on Europe
I think a lot of people will treat Fish like they use to treat iCCup. Play on there for ladder games, play on one of the BNet servers for play/obs, UMS, or just chilling with friends.

Sounds awesome, I'll be there! Probably will mostly play on Fish too, but sure is nice if East and others back indeed!!

The issue here is that the newer players who don't really know anyone on BW might feel isolated if they have nowhere to go.

Does anyone know what changes (if any) are occurring for the fish server? They said 'increased native support' but thats rather ambiguous. Personally I cant even figure out how to type in hangul, ergo, I cant activate the anti hack on fish.

i have a thread on that

But we might not even need WLauncher to play on Fish once 1.18 comes out.

What happened to the good old jeja system?
I think people here should go ahead and teach some newcomers a thing or two sometimes

How do I even run BW without a launcher? Can I still use MCALauncher to launch bw/stream? Or just starcraft.exe?
|
Patch is on the 30th, right? Do we know what time? Not sure when Blizz usually schedules them.

I think you're gonna need to dl the Bnet Launcher. I'm not 100% sure but i heard that they're gonna add BW to it.
So basically you run it the same way you'd run OW, SC2, Hearthstone etc.
I'm not sure whether or not i should uninstall and reinstall BW from Blizzard's launcher tho :D

ROOT is making a BW team?

Download app, create an id on blizzards site. App will have all of the Blizzard games, install whichever you want (BW should be added on the 30th) and run it.

Hey, so I love US East. Been there since it was created. But to your point, I don't think it'd be wise to split the community apart into different servers. If possible, we should definitely be looking to centralize people onto fish + one other server imo. At this point in time, I think we can expect a slight boom in player count, but I'm not optimistic enough to say it will be active enough to populate across 5+ servers again.

Yea im expecting a lot of those channels to come back, waiting on 1.18 to come out before i add all those neutral channels (just to make sure they're active).

Ideally i want this to happen too but we can't force people to play on whichever server we want, the best thing we can do is give them options. Hopefully everyone will eventually end up on the same server.
Of course this would be much easier if Blizzard made 1 mega gateway instead of having 3-4 regional ones..
