It would be cool to see Liquid perform with Twistzz in their first LAN with him. Also going to be EnVy's LAN debut. Excited for that!

Optic and C9 also fighting for bragging rights for best NA team. Kinda wished Envy would play someone else in the first round (either Godsent or Gambit) because I don't think their confidence is there yet and will be hard to match SK if they don't get a good start. TL beating NiP would not be an upset, curious to see the maps.

It's also quite hard to gauge how NA teams do against EU teams. (I do favour TL but am hoping to see some magic :D )

I know, but it's so frustrating seeing players that have so much experience and knowledge doing so poorly. Seems every other team manages to make small corrections and changes in order to adapt and remain relevant, NiP not so much. It's this stubbornness that I don't understand. I think Swag is a huge downgrade from Skadoodle, and Twistzz isn't really a noticeable upgrade over Pimp - though Liquids form is solid. But I don't see them beating NiP or SK until they get rid of JDM. Envyus is probably a more likely outsider than any of the NA teams.

They have been on a downward spiral for some months now but I'm feeling a bit of a resurgence. It really wasn't working out with Pyth. He wasn't functioning well on the team, regardless of whether he had the AWP or the rifle. While Draken is still a bit inconsistent, he offers a ton more in terms of getting opening picks, and Get_Right + friberg looks a lot better than they did 2 months ago. And given that NiP at the bottom of their form still managed to beat C9 2-1, I don't see how on earth they shouldn't be big favourites against any of the NA teams at this tournament. Because C9 w/ Skadoodle is still the best NA team, and NiP is actually having solid results going into this tournament.

I think the issue is that Liquid is so good at branding/marketing it self, so that any type of small improvement/roster change gets massive attention, and results in people hugely overrating the team. That and the fact that it plays against NA opponents online.

But one thing is right, Liquid is along NiP, its just that other teams should be rated higher then both of em.

But one thing is right, Liquid is along NiP, its just that other teams should be rated higher then both of em. Well I think they look better now. Stanislaw > Hiko, and Twistzz looks pretty fine too, though I don't think he will outperform Pimps lan performances. That said, I still wouldn't put Liquid in the top 20. If you watched JDM play recently, he actually looks like a guy with no confidence at all (plus he isn't good). And I don't think Liquid can beat tier 2 EU teams 4v5. But one thing is right, Liquid is along NiP, Tell me which world in which Liquid would go toe-to-toe against Astralis over 4 maps. Offline or online. Liquid has had consistente "not a top 20 team" performances ever since S1mple left. So even though they have improved recently, they have a ton of cathing up to do. NiP has been in a huge slump until they signed Draken where they bottomed at around #15 in the world. But even when they bottomed, they still beat C9 2-1.... So that shows some of the discrepancy between NA and EU. And right now it seems to be around #10th in the world. So NiP is unquestionably the second best team in this tournament.
