Bayern broke his transfer fee record for Tolisso btw, like Ribéry did in his time. Prices really skyrocketed those last years though.

People in Germany are going mental on the internet because of it. 'Over 40 million for that guy and they let Kroos go for 35?' and more. Also because Uli Hoeneß made a statement that you'd need absolute bombshells to improve Bayern's squad, people are also going mental because a few weeks into the transfer period Bayern hasn't spent whatever it takes to get a super star (most commonly named Alexis Sanchez). I guess according to the internet every other team has until the new season to complete their squad but Bayern exclusively have to have everything done before all the players are back from vacations/Confed Cup etc.

Tolisso is 22, worn the armband a few times, can play every position on the midfield from right in front of the defence to right behind the forward and occasionnally filled the gap at the right back position. He's a nice guy and quiet outside of the pitch. He refused Napoli last year because he did not like the environment (crazy fans, huge pressure, can't go in town) and Sagnol as assistant had a role in his signing. His main issue is consistency and he's not a "finished product" but I think he will make it if Bayern can show a little bit of patience.

Its refreshing because my approach is generally pretty cynical and I think most fans tend to be that way for games with no scoring.

Moving back to football it looks like Everton have been doing some pretty good business Davy Klaassen and Jordon Pickford sound like sensible buys. Davy Klaassen I think will be sorely missed Holland and hopefully he can show his class in the EPL. Pickford made some fantastic saves and certainly had plenty of practice up at Sunderland. He needs to show consistency at Everton as he will continue to make great saves but must not make silly mistakes at a bigger club. Iran have smashed the group and already qualified. So Korea and Uzbekistan are now in a straight fight. Korea have a 1 point (and 1 goal) advantage (It would be a lot worse had Iran not beaten Uzbekistan). Korea's games are against Iran who are better than them and Uzbekistan. Uzbekistan's other game is against China. So Korea need to either hope China can do them a favour in Wuhan or the fact that Iran have qualified and the game is at home means Korea can get something of them. It will come down to the last game in Tashkent. The other group is 2 from 3 Australia, Japan, Saudi Arabia. Japan play Australia at home before going to the Saudi's so they have tough games but have everything in their own hands. Australia should make it since they have a game they should win at home to Thailand and Japan and Saudia Arabia have to play each other. It is possible for the Australia to beat Thailand and still not make it should Japan beat them and then lose to the Saudi's and the goal differences go against Australia. Saudia Arabia have +1 on Australia so it might be worth finding the back of the net a few times against Thailand. Edit: I don't see Spurs settling into Wembley very quickly. It's pretty similar to West Ham situation it's a lovely stadium that everyone wants to come play in. No real home advantage. I'd put money on Chelsea taking that game too. About the shitshow that is the Korean NT I always like to bring out this post from Reddit. Korean NT Shitshow That's an interesting insight into the situation from someone who clearly knows a lot more than me about it. Sounds angry and bitter and probably justifiably so. It almost makes me want Korea to not qualify so the situation can be resolved. Again thank you to NewEra for keeping us updated on the Braunschweig situation. It's certainly does sound like harsh treatment from biased officials that care to been seen doing something anything powerful rather than acting rationally and proportionally to what the situation demands. + Show Spoiler [Non-football related rant ] + For lack of any better platform to unload this on I’m going to moan about ridiculous Asian nationalist arguments my friends have had with me. What I mean by this is when I a talking about China to a Chinese person or Korea to a Korean person and I think they have got something wrong. So I correct them and they just flat out tell me I am a foreigner I don’t know. It’s so annoying and drives me crazy. I don’t know if Western people do this too I’ve only come across it in Asia. I will give you some examples (most of them fucking ridiculous) My Chinese girlfriend told me there were no hedgehogs in China. I told her I see them all the time in the park. She flat out tells me I am wrong she’s Chinese she knows there are no hedgehogs in China, I am a foreigner I don’t know. It blows my mind I literally saw one the day before we had this (the most pointless argument on the planet). This was eventually solved when after days of going for late night walks together with an ulterior motive one finally walked out in front of us. I had a conversation back in Korea with two girls from Gyeoungsang about how cold it got in Namyangju I told them a story about how it got down to -17 one morning and they both just flat out told me it doesn’t get that cold in Korea we are Korean you don’t know. Surely the fact I lived there for 2 years is more fucking important than the fact I am foreign. Agggh I had my Korean boss tell me ducks can’t fly at a wildfoul park with ducks literally flying behind her as she said it. I told her to look at the ducks she said they can’t be ducks because they are flying. She is Korean she knows ducks can’t fly in Korea. My protestations that there are literally ducks flying I can see right now and we have ducks in England apparently irrelevant. Any argument ever with anyone Chinese about Mao or Chinese history (which none of them know) always ends with we are Chinese we know you don’t. But that’s a whole different story, Mao is basically a religion and really not too far from the way North Koreans talk about their leader. I told my girlfriend 80million people died under Mao and she told me because of foreigners which completely perplexed me. She refused to tell me how foreigners caused these deaths just keep saying I am not Chinese I don’t know. The worst one by far though was trying to have a compassionate conversation about the London fire and how sad it was. Some how this conversation turned into her lecturing me about how dangerous other countries are and how everything is safe and perfect in China. Are you fucking kidding me? China has a good safety record? Really? Oh my god I need a lie down. Anyway sorry for wasting anyone who's still readings time. I literally had no where else to rant about this. I just don't get how where you are from can be used to justify a view point against all logical arguments or perceivable facts. edit: The League cup draw confused Charlton fans. They actually will be coming to ST James Park what an honour.

So in the end this will be the usual annual posturing which will result in him getting another raise and everything will be fine. People should be used to it by now.

Add the Manchester and a few London clubs plus of course the money grab option of China/Qatar. It is still possible that this is just posturing, but the reporting has been reputable publications and it coincides with two investigations that could get very uncomfortable for him.

I also don't think he's gonna do qatar/china (or US) until he's done as a top player, I think he cares way, way more about personal achievements and breaking records than he cares about getting even richer. And nobody gets a ballon d'or playing in China. I think he has to much professional pride to play in a shitty league. I dont think he will every see himself as not being a top player till he retires. And frankly the monster athlete that he is he has plenty of "top player" years left in him.

united wont take him because rm will definitely ask for a price that is probably equivalent to somewhere around what we sold him for, and shit would go down within the club if we fucking bought him for exactly what he sold him for and he spent all his best years somewhere else. psg might take him as they were clearly missing zlatan this season and cr7 would pretty much guarantee a ligue 1 title but still...i dont think hell leave eventually, especially with the french league being a 2nd tier league and his pride wouldnt allow it. just imagine how every accomplishment he makes there will be belittled by messi fans due to it being in a shitty league. he wont move to any other club in england (city, chelsea) simply because of his history with united

I think it's a publicity stunt anyway, he just had a new contract this year. He could also go to Monaco as non French people don't pay taxes at all there, fucking unfair in ligue 1 btw.
