The qualifiers for SSL's Season 2 Challenge were held today, to little fanfare. The system from the previous qualifiers was kept unchanged, meaning that players first went through a double elimination bracket stage. Afterwards, the 12 players that advanced through the brackets were put into GSL-style groups of 4, with the top 2 of each advancing to the Challenge stage.
The players who emerged victorious in the qualifiers were Hush, Bunny, jjakji, Impact, Rogue and GSL finalist soO, so make sure to tune in to SSL Challenge when it begins to see your favorite players competing weekly!
Notable eliminations: Armani (no show), Billowy (no show), Creator, Losira, Super, Hurricane, Seed, Cure, MyuNgSiK, Forte, Trust, Ryung, Jim, MacSed
Additionally, GuMiho, TY and Curious did not sign up for unknown reasons, KeeN and Leenock were attending the Game Land Invitational

Cure lost to Gamja to be 100% focused on GSL S3 and secure a blizzcon spot
+ I can understand for TY because SSL challenge is just a big qualifier, and he will attend at 2017 Blizzcon so it's a little bit pointless when you dont know if SSL will be there in 2018.

Cure is just bad Happy that soO made it, a bit disappointed that TY doesn't even try. Challenge should be fun though

They should've put more money into Challenge, the effort to reward is not that great if you don't get into Premier

Can be fun but there is a lot of matchs and you must deploy a lot of strategy for not so much

Come on Rogue, this season of GSL was your warmup!

Bunny 2-0'd soO in the group stage qualifier. A sign of weakness before the upcoming GSL final?

I'm more inclined to believe it involved some cheese.

I'm more surprised Hurricane didn't make it, not to mention Ryung - even if he seems to be on bit of a slump
