Korea still has the best, but the foreign world has all the rest. Once the current top-tiers retire/join the army (a few more years at most), SC2 will be officially dead in Korea.
Good thing they have SC Remastered I guess.

We will see what is going on when East Asia qualifier occurs (although the exact date is unknown).

But that doesn't matter anymore anyway, since all WCS tournaments now are weekend only tornaments, not months-long championships like the 2013-2015 WCS. Makes sense. Exactly. The whiners' defense have no logic and they still have the "foreigners are bad!!" mentality. It's the Global Starcraft League, not Korean Starcraft Leauge. Well one could say, it is the WORLD Championship Series, not the Foreigner Championship Series ;P

There are a lot more promising newcomers in the korean scene like HHs or Prince but they have no way to make money of the game because foreigners are taking up all the Code S spots. It's such a shame.

We blame the fact that KR scene is bleeding, only new blood ( like Nightmare ) can fix the thing, but foreigners grab their spots. It's not really the same situation, because of them we are stuck with this top 16 ( yes because seems like foreigners dont know how to improve so they are nowhere near of the top 16 ( Except in ZvZ maybe ) ) until the end of time. And it's not because foreigners situation was bad back in the days that new kr players have to undergo the same punishment.

It's such a shame. You're complaining about a problem that MIGHT exist but in reality doesn't. Of the 8 amateurs that were present (Junseob, Junbo, TREVI, Eagle, Nightmare, Rookie, Prince, HHs) TREVI, Prince, and Rookie were the only ones that lost to foreigners. Prince being the only one who actually stood a chance of qualifying as he was able to win at least 2 rounds. TREVI couldn't beat Jim, he isn't beating Byul, Forte or Dear. Rookie lost to TIME, he wasn't beating Zest. Its not the fault of foreigners that amateurs didn't make it, its the lack of amateurs fault for amateurs not being present. There were 51 Koreans there competing for 28 spots, and 8 of those players were amateurs. This also assumes that all 8 players are actually aspiring pros and not just random players good at starcraft who want to dick around in qualifiers because they live there and its free

I am not a fan of the region lock at all, but even I can see how the situation of the foreign players was desperate back then when both the WCS long-time leagues and all big weekend tournaments were completely dominated by Koreans to the point that almost no foreigners reached even Ro8s of those. This has lead to the region lock, which I think was implemented really poorly (by being based on residency and visas, which are stupid bearoucratic concepts), but which turned out to be at least quite efficient in keeping the foreign scene alive. The current state in Korea is nowhere like it - you are all free to start bitching when the foreigners start winning the GSL left and right (and that would be probably also the time to remove the region lock from the WCS, unless Blizzard is really stupid), but that is just not happening. Maybe it's not the exact same situation but the damage it does to the scene is very very similar.
