The point here is that the best way we have to compare Innovation to Zest (or any other player) are the results. It's objective and consistent that way. The context (aka making sure it's somewhat "fair") is added through the fact that both players played in korea in the same era. There is no absolute huge missing context like if we simply compared the number of titles of let's say Taeja and Zest. That would lack context. Again: If we could add even more data through a maybe sophisticated elo system (and thus somewhat quantify the difficulty of tournament runs) then i would be for it. But there is nothing like that and i simply don't trust a human to be able to be "objective" about that. Which was one of the bigger reasons i think stuchiu's goat list is flawed. (that's another topic though)

So you're never going to put together an objective argument. The very nature of this debate doesn't allow for it. Anyway, I'm off to sleep now. This got way more intense than I thought it would, and if anyone feels offended then I apologize for that. Zest ranks higher than INnoVation in the ever-subjective GOAT list for me. Have a good night!

Back to work then Oh and @The_Red_Viper, if it wasn't implicit in my position, I wholeheartedly agree with just about everything you said.

About starleagues: Well my main point about them being more important/prestigious always was that the korean scene is the more competitive/skilled one. I think there is a lot of evidence for that. If we also add the preparation aspect, that part is obviously subjective to a degree. pvnsp i figured as much

Yeah, the first two are commonly considered #1 and 2, and Innovation recently won a tournament, which sparked this. People talked about the same thing when Zest won his GSL last year. Recency bias in full effect.

But I guess if you didn't know Chinese it could be tricky. Inno beat Hurricane 3-0 today, and will face Leenock in the VSL Semifinals next week. Assuming he wins (it's Leenock), he will face the winner of soO vs Super (so probably soO) in the finals.
