Your armies have been surrounded, and their hearts are full of fear. The heat of the rising lava drives them into a panic as they break formation, placing their lives at greater risk as they run headlong into the molten sea. Work through the horror and gather the crystals when the lava subsides.
Map: The Vermillion Problem
Mutations:
Void Rifts Void Rifts periodically appear in random locations and spawn enemy units until destroyed.
Fear Player units will occasionally stop attacking and run around in fear upon taking damage.
Not sure if its cause my allies not being thaaaat good, but im having really trouble on finishing this on brutal, seems tough as hell, expanding alone is already troublesome :D

I think Raynor is the best for solo queue since he has a much easier time than others sniping the deep rifts without an ally's help.
I can carry the first half as Zagara consistently but I keep getting Karax partners who just cannon the main and the expansion and don't do anything to help clear the map, snipe rifts, or collect crystals in the second half when it gets really hard
I do feel like the lava actually makes void rifts a little easier than usual though, because it kills or delays the units from time to time. Sure, it also blocks you from getting to the rifts for small periods of time, but really its the static enemies placed around the map that you have to get through that really are the main frustration anyway.

yeah this is where I usually get stuck. about 12-15 crystals in and the last 5 are all super deep on the map wtih a ton of rifts open
I gave up on brutal after 8+ attempts or so trying different commanders. Raynor is great but you still need an ally who can really pull their weight. Got pretty close a few times but man I don't have it in me to keep trying. Idk if it's overtuned on brutal or what but I did it on hard and it was so easy it felt ridiculous that it was the same mutation.
For those who haven't been able to do it, I have the following advice.
In general, don't take the expansion too early. This mutation makes it hard to defend. Consider taking it after the 3rd lava rise and babysit the expansion with your units for a while. Don't get too greedy in the early game as void rifts are much harder to deal with in the early game than in the late game.
If you are good (APM>=150, not using F2 all the time, know how to split armies), queue with Raynor. As long as your ally can defend, you can carry your ally and deal with all the rifts and static enemy defense. Better if you get Karax, Swann or Artanis allies, as they can greatly help you clear rifts that are deep.
If you are somewhat decent (~100 APM), you can try Vorazun and Stukov. Stukov still need the ally to make some contribution to the offense, and Vorazun needs some protection on the probes retrieving the crystals. When playing Vorazun, use time stop as soon as it's available. Basically, you get 20 extra seconds of mining time every 4 minutes. That's pretty huge. With Vorazun, you can actually take the expansion after 2nd lava rise. Babysit your expansion with your main army until your defense is up. After clearing each island, leave 2 DTs there to kill rifts that will spawn in the future. For Stukov, just play conservative as he doesn't really need the expansion. Stukov can get all the first 10 crystals by himself but pales in the late game when crystals spawn far away. Consider moving your bunkers and infested colony to the expansion in the late game as you have better reach.
If you have a friend who can carry you, Swann, Karax and Stukov are good choices. Make sure to take the expansion after 3rd or 4th lava rise. It's rather tough if you don't expand at all when you have 1 defensive commander and 1 offensive commander. If you have 2 offensive commanders who can clear all rifts quickly (like Raynor+Kerrigan/Artanis), you don't need to expand.
If you are not good and don't have a friend to carry you, I wouldn't recommend you playing those defensive commanders. It can be super frustrating as most of the time as the ally won't carry you. One strategy you can try is zealot/tempest with Artanis. See Hunter's youtube channel for an example video: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjA7etzigrOghpVoWjyUH5A/videos. That guy is quite talented as the highest rank he ever got in 1v1 is platinum, and it looks like he has <50 effective APM. However, he has managed to beat a lot of the past mutations with almost every commander.
i started it with about a day left. while cliche, my allies were not strong, and i was definitely not good enough to carry. i had games within 5 minutes i just knew we wouldn't be able to win.
it took some time for me to get the hang of killing the rifts and the multitask and army splitting required. each game i felt as if i was alone in going out across the map. i played with numerous karax where they made cannons and i felt as though their contribution was nil.
i don't think my builds were the best, and i never was sure when to expo. i always felt behind and that i couldn't sacrifice the time and resources to expand. this would explain my late game woes.
i wish i had another few days left to work on it and streamline everything more. it really bothers me i wasn't able to complete it.
