I think this whole idea of people voting on things is wrong. We should have a politburo of unelected experts or some king decide everything in our lives. The masses are obviously too ignorant to make decisions like that.
Thank you Mr Stalin.

This is where you calm down or I'll ban you. Then ban me and get it over with. People are outraged that the fans might actually get to vote for some players. The fans voted for good players. Gumiho won one GSL he is not the god of Starcraft. Before this year nobody cared about Gumiho. The world champion got in instead. So what?

I hope Zest does better at HSC than he has recently, but I'm not optimistic unfortunately.

The whole voting is not as bad as the idea that people couldn't care less about some players's performances. They only vote because those players are popular. The result turned out to be decent because BlizzCon made the nomination list. Otherwise, we would see some crazy votes. Again, nothing is wrong with voting but for a competitive game as SC2, it is simply unnecessary. Make a qualifier for Top 20 (minus the 4 selected) and get it done in a night. Would that be easier and less problematic? No one would complain about technical issue like only US account can vote or complain about lame popularity contest and so on. Also, we are all civil here. No need to be overly sarcastic and borderline insulting in your replies.

Pretending democracy is some perfect system that always elects the perfect candidate while all others are evil conspiracies is disingenuous at best and ignorant at worst. Obviously, he has never heard of Donald Trump.

It was quite convincing. Nice to begin the tournament this way althrough these oponents aren't the best.

Obviously, he has never heard of Donald Trump.]""""""" Where did I say anything about democracy being perfect? Or anything remotely close to that? I did not and never would. So you are arguing against something I never said, a point I never made? Then you destroy your entire thesis by bringing up Donald Trump. So what would be your solution there eliminate presidential elections in the USA because you did not like the result? Less democracy? You did not destroy my argument you made it for me.

When your "argument" consists of a poorly constructed Stalinism strawman, I don't have much to work with. Giving you one argument means you've now have a grand total of one. The actual point that people are making is that democracy is an imperfect system which does not always yield the best results. And the point I am making to you is that people criticizing democracy does not mean they are Stalinists or any other form of conspiracy-tinfoil cabal of shadowy "elitists" maliciously scheming to rob the "common man" for TEH EVULZ. Responding in a more civil and less presumptive manner will also help your case, btw.
