Great episode, this was the last set-up. Now there is no turning back and the dangerous, possibly sinister adventure is going to start. I'm really curious to see the different layers and maybe even beyond the established ones (although I doubt it, considering it's only 13 eps).

Looks like it's the dark horse of the season, potential AotS and everybody here who has tried it seems to like it so far. That's what I thought. Apparently it's going to air in fall. https://myanimelist.net/news/51604345 Oh yeah this is just SYD level of anime, I've checked the manga before.

+ Show Spoiler + The characters are a mess. Io was originally a psychopath who lived for the thrill of battle. In season 2, he shows a bunch of compassion. It's so out of character for him. Daryl literally gave his body to Zeon. It's a pretty cut and dry metaphor, but it made for a pretty good character arc. In season 2, he's just kinda aimless. Bianca is just far too convenient to be a believable character. She's basically designed to be Io's wet dream. Season 1 had the usual war is hell theme. However, it also had a nice take on it (for Gundam, at least) with how war turns you into a monster (both figuratively and literally). The musical themes served to emphasize and contrast the personalities of the main characters. The music was still there in s2, but it didn't really have much of a purpose this time. In fact, s2 didn't really have a theme at all. The story straight up sucks. Both sides are conducting sorties, but there is basically no interaction between the two main characters despite their conflict being the driving force behind s1. Claudia survives for no good reason aside from giving Io an excuse to brood. And then it ends on a newtype cliffhanger. Come on. Overall, I'm left wondering what the point of this 4 episode season was.

I feel that overall japanese humor doesn't mesh very well with my taste and the few anime i do find funny typically have a satirical or parody aspect or relies on heavy dark or dry humor.

Cromartie high school (Anime & Manga) and Hinamatsuri (Manga) made me genuinely laugh a bunch of times. Though japanese humor rarely gets more than a chuckle out of me in general since it's mostly puns, references and manzai from what i've seen. I've never found puns and wordplay particularly funny and manzai gets old quickly most of the time. References also tend to be hit or miss. Me not knowing japanese might also be a reason but w/e.

I think Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun is my highest ranked comedy. Actually New Game! and KonoSuba ranked equally high for me. KonoSuba would be a comedy/parody for sure... New Game can be funny but I wouldn't call it a comedy
