Like 1 game in 10 he will play like Messi/Ronaldo and win games on his own but he hasn't shown that 1 in 2 games or even 1 in 3. Went about 10 games without scoring last season didn't he? He's better than Ronaldo already. But not peak Ronaldo. I don't think he'll ever reach that level but he's more consistent than you think. Check his stats with Brazil, where he has to lead the team. And he did that with a really poor Brazil team (compared to some teams they've had in the past).

How has neymar done far more for Brazil NT? Portugual won Euros on back on Ronaldo dragging them through every game but the final, in which France just went full Argentina mode. Messi hasn't carried Argentina to a title no but he normally carries them through games at international level. He carried them to world cup final and i think 2 copa america's right?
Neymar is the myth that he does play very well for Brazil national wise but he doesn't do anything consistently like Messi and Ronaldo do domestically i mean just have to look at the champions league wins or domestic season wins. You can take Neymar out of Barca and replace him with say a Coutinho level player or even someone of lesser quality and Barcelona will still be competing. If you took Messi out of that squad there is huge question marks on whether they will still be a top 5 club in the world etc.

How is he better than current Ronaldo who has got all of Portugual's points in world cup qualifier games and carried Real to the champions league for the SECOND season running! Come on, Neymar is great but you cannot be saying he is the second best player in football right now? His stats last season domestically; Neymar 46Games 20Goals 19Assists Messi 55Games 56Goals 11Assists Suarez 52Games 41Goals 15Assists Ronaldo 61Games 56Goals 13Assists
I mean there is no way those stats are worthy of being the 2nd best player in the world, where another guy in his team is arguably out shining him in Suarez, last season anyway
Anyway i got off point, haitlike who are Spanish media saying is favorite to take neymar's spot then? Coutinho still or someone else?

yeah neymar being close to ronaldo is an absolute joke. not even the most deluded barca fans could come to that conclusion ronaldo is no where near his peak anymore and would still bench neymar 9/10 games. ronaldo and messi will be the undisputed top 2 of the world until they choose to retire.

Ok Barcelona confirmed Neymar has asked to leave the club and a brief statement reads;
"FC Barcelona returned to training this Wednesday morning after the American tour, the first part of a double session at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.
"Before the morning session began, Neymar Jr. informed those present of his wish to leave the Club and was therefore given permission to miss training and resolve his future.
"Ernesto Valverdewas otherwise able to count on all the players available with Gerard Deulofeu, Andre Gomes and Ter Stegen rejoining the group which included Varo and Alena of Barca B."

Think it's really happening. So, Neymar-PSG, Coutinho-Barca?

Haha yeah you got a good timing there :D
Liverpool seem adamant Coutinho going no where but i think reports in Spain are very confident that one is happening, i trying to see what Haitlike thinks as he is native Spanish and can give us the inside scoop :D
Would be hilarious now though if PSG didn't buy Neymar out of his contract and said, here's £140million take it or leave it haha

Stop with Ronaldo carrying Portugal at the euro, he did not. They did like Greece in 2004.

Thus dragging them through the groups in best 3rd place finish. He then set up Quaresma to beat Croatia. Did ok vs Poland i guess, then he beat Wales on his own too. To arrive at the final and get injured then everyone thought Portugal was done and still managed to win 3Assists 3Goals is pretty good for a team who scored just 9 goals But anyway forget that Euro's he bought them there and is taken them to the world cup currently. He has scored 11 goals in qualifying for the world cup right now! Neymar has 6 in more games played Anyway i stand by this one unless i can see Neymar scoring 30 plus a season or scoring important goals in important matches when it matters more often.
Hungary, not Bulgaria

new thread and Neymar transfer hype. All yummy!

Bulgaria Wales Croatia, wow much wow, amazing... World class talent. Portugal won on the back of their ability to not take goals, like Italy 2006, France 98, Spain 2010.
He's in the best team in the world and is their centre forward, he scores goals but you can't flat out say he's better than Lewando or Suarez. Comparing his stats line to a winger is dubious at best.

Neymar already scored more than 30 goals in a season. Twice. Last year he scored less than usual. And even then, the team plays for Messi so you can't compare his stats to Ronaldo's. As for important goals... Did you watch the 6-1?
And don't make me laugh with the Euro and the qualifiers. Look at Brazil's opposition and look at Portugal's. At the Euro, they faced weak teams, got the luckiest side of the bracket thanks to other big teams failing, and they barrel made it. And he was nowhere near MVP.
I do think people are overestimating current Ronaldo. I think there are a few players better than him right now. Yes, he did play some amazing games last season, but you can count them on one hand. And like I said, the team plays for him so he'll be the one scoring the goals most of the time. Ronaldo from the last 3-4 games of CL vs Neymar, no match. Ronaldo from the full season? Not that much anymore.

Barcelona gonna offer to bring back Sanchez on deadline day. I can feel it.
Hold me

Ah delusional goat discussions make their long awaited return, it has been way too long.
A few questions remain now with the Neymar saga:
1. FFP and the release clause 2. the 25m loyalty bonus 3. will Barca manage replacement despite other clubs swaying no e.g. mbappe/coutinho

So that's not PSG paying... Smart, but not fair at all. You can imagine companies owning clubs doing the same in the future then there's no limit.
For the bonus, knowing the father, he's not going to give up haha. And for the replacement they'll find, I'm really not worried. Plenty of options, clubs can't say no to crazy offers. Dembelé, Mbappé, Dybala, Coutinho, they'll get at least one. I wish Barça would negotiate for Verratti instead, they're not talking about him at all anymore.
