I played BW more than 5 years ago and my memory of the feel of the game is weak. I have a few questions regarding SC:R and BW in general that it's been hard for me to find answers on in searching around. 1. Turn Rate - I've read various interpretations about what this is. It seems to indicate how responsive units are and dictate command delay. Is this equivalent to "High Latency Mode" or "Low Latency Mode" or "LAN Latency" of the past? If so, what setting do I want when playing low ping games with friends? What Turn Rate is the ladder played on? 8? Does this imply that it will be more delayed than a LAN latency game or is it something different? 2. Microing 1a2a3a4a. I understand that keyboard inputs are dropped while you're clicking, but it feels very exaggerated for me to the point where I must heavily delay each 1a click.... 2a click.... 3a.... click... etc. Is this the same as it ever was? Is there any special technique to this or is there any training method or map that helps work on this? Thanks very much!

I dont know 100% but from what i gathered, it is indeed how responsive units are. The more the better response, 8 is the number from what ive heard on the ladder, and that is a quite big delay indeed. 16-18 is the maximum, and can be made in private games, so with low ping friends, set it to maximum. Not sure about the latency thing. I heard one comment that said if you set the turnrate to max but then set it to high latency, it kinda blocks each other somehow.. Either way i am lost there so maybe just ignore this last part. the current effect is that at most the build is evening out pvz. but the build is not the solution to a balanced pvz, it is just that many zerg and protoss players very often do stupid, but very crucial mistakes. in Jaedong vs Bisu at GG Together. Jaedong made 4 crucial mistakes, Bisu made only 1. But even after Jaedong made 3 mistakes and is being forced to drop or else he loses, because Bisu made his only mistake by completely getting catched offguard and not leaving ht at his 3rd, Jaedong was in a winning position if he just attacked Bisu's 3rd immediately. But instead he wasted precious time in front of Bisu's natural and ultimately couldnt kill the 3rd. After the game you can see it at Bisu's reaction how he was not happy with that game, as everything went "perfect" but a single "stupid" mistake basically cost him the game while being lucky Jaedong didnt punish Bisu for that.

The game was more or less working when it came out, more than can be said for some of the shit i've seen in WoW. Seriously its a Blizzard game, shit like this is always expected for the first couple days after launch. Give it a week or so and the game will run like clockwork.

Any solution? You said it yourself: "if i do it too fast" The only solution is to perform the inputs more precisely, meaning: without overlap, both tapping hotkeys on the keyboard and clicking with the mouse. (If Blizzard didn't do something about this in SC:R that I don't know about then) in BW, unlike in SC2 or other newer releases, the game won't accept a mouse-click as long as you're still holding a keyboard-button down. If you play newer games, you're used to that being possible, BW forces you do do precisely one input at a time. With a little practice this won't be a problem apart from very few cases. I recommed you accept this as a challenge and special charme of an old classic game, another thing to overcome and be proud of afterwards - and don't demand convenience right away in this or other similar regards... edit: And to be clear: Everyone has to overcome this problem, it's perfectly fair because the game treats everyone even. Additionally, you won't lose a single game through the fraction of a second you "lose" because you have to make precise inputs in BW. Or one in a million, literally. Managing your multitasking right so you are present to control battles precisely is the key for winning battles.
