Boxing is more strategic (or boring) than what most casuals like. You can let the opponent tire himself out, even turn your back towards him, because the ref will separate you anyway, and win on stamina in the end.

for Mayweather, it was just another day at the office. McG got thoroughly outclassed in the final 5 rounds. It was still more competitive than i thought it would be.

Im pretty sure he knew that, but he also knew he doesn't stand a chance in later rounds. Mayweather has been boxing for 30 years, longer than McG has been living lol. I think both of them knew what are their strengths and weaknesses are, the shit talking and taunting McG did was an attempt to anger Mayweather into fighting more aggressively because that's the only way McG stands a chance, but Mayweather didn't give in and remained calm.

Bodyshots//OverPunching. zero footage existed of McG boxing, therefore, Mayweather had to see how McG moves and punches and fights to determine how to deal with him. On August 29 2017 09:41 Seeker wrote: McGregor not understanding how Mayweather fights Mayweather has 5 fighting styles fully fleshed out. Mayweather is a walking boxing encyclopedia. This makes it pretty understandable that Mayweather could confuse McG. On August 29 2017 09:41 Seeker wrote: It was just not worth watching... What was interesting is that Mayweather found the same weakness in McG's close-pocket/clinch game that Nat Diaz found. Mayweather has a high fight IQ combined with 394875938456 hours of experience. and he found McG's biggest weakness pretty quickly. All in all.. a fascinating night of boxing... i was pleasantly surprised.
