Offline qualifiers for 2018 GSL Season 1 will be held on December 26th-27th
Qualifiers Application Period - December 13rd, 2017 ~ December 20th, 2017 Wednesday 23:59 (KST)
GSL Season 1 Qualifiers Offline Event: Date: December 26th(Tuesday)-27th(Wednesday) 2017 (KST) Location: AfreecaTV PC Bang, Hongik University, Seoul ※ Participate in both days with one apply
Participation Requirements: - Must be at least 12 years old - Need to have a SC2 Battle.net account (cannot use your family's or friends' accounts) - Masters/Grandmaster league players (Any Region)
Match Format: - Bo3 - 26th (Tue): Double Elimination - 27th (Wed): Ro.8 Single Tournament / Ro.4 Dual Tournament
- 26th (Tue) 16 Players to advance to Code S - 27th (Wed) 16 Players to advance to Code S - If you can not pass the first qualifying round on Tuesday(26th), you will automatically participate in the 2nd day qualifying round on Wednesday

Hopefully two qualifying days will make these qualifiers less volatile.

In one day qualifiers like 90% of the favorites made it every time anyway. Having only 16 people qualify per day seems really inefficient and coming back the next day is just annoying for the players who barely don't make it on day 1 (especially if they're not from Seoul). And it's not like this is getting Afreeca an extra day of stream revenue since they're probably still not showing anything.

No the article claims the last GSL wil have been after/in 2020.

Even back in the early days of WoL the youngest players in GSL were still like 15 or so I think (?)
