I'll give Alex Smith his due honor for being a good QB. But I'm just not convinced he has that Brady tenacity that's going to be needed when Playoffs start. They'll be lucky as a team and once the pressure hits Smith, he's gonna fold like he always does. Maybe it's Reid calling the plays that screw him over, but he own the field. He can audible all he wants. Wentz turned the offense around, but I'm gonna give credit to the D, especially after Sunday. Steelers need to get it together if they wanna take over as the top in the AFC from the Patriots. Can't allow the Patriots to score like the Ravens or Bengals did and expect to keep up. (Assuming the Patriots D gets their shit together.)

It's so sad watching practice squad players be lined up in the 4th quarter of close games. Also yes, I say we put to rest the Wentz/Goff/Smith ordeal since Wentz is out and it seems that Smith wont even make the playoffs.

Just so I'm clear, smith is a solid not great QB who is paid as such and needs better tools around him then a supertar qb. But he is good value for the dollar and a lot better when you condsider value to contract then many NFL starters (flaco, dalton, tanninhill, bradford, palmer, maybe carr, ryan, luck when you consider health, winston maybe more) I was only commenting generally in regards to Smith. He is better than Foles. He has the weapons, just needs a better playcaller than Reid imo. He's reminiscent of Cutler. Has flashes that he could be great, just stuck in a bad system. The way this season is going, no one will have a full healthy team for the playoffs. Gonna be a lot of 3rd-4th stringers in.

Dola, Edelman, cooks, Hogan, and there's Mitchell who I thought was coming of ir before the signing. Add in Slater who just plays special teams and there's 6. Feels crowded. You never know when Gronk or Edelman will be injured again or suspended. So might as well get some people in. Burkhead is eroding their value anyway because GO BIG RED!
