His chance is much better than just 5 percent. He's favored against Trap still, and Trap could knock out either Classic or Dark for him.
Dark losing the first match vs Classic paved the way for TY today. He's also trying to be very active in the early game in the PvT series. Beating Trap really doesn't say much, but he looked in shape.
Classic about beating TY: "If I played standard builds I don't think I'd have much of a chance so I tried to change it up" TY about losing to Classic: "I probably tried too many weird strats and should have played normal, I thought for sure I was gonna win that series"

Well look at that
Nice prediction. TY really showed up, I did not expect him to be that good.
Oh yes! This was amazing. TY in top form, love it.
Demolishing Trap twice and going toe-to-toe with the worlds PvT-player who was just as crisp himself, was great to see TY's TvP being this good. There is something unique about how TY wins when he is at his best. His anticipation is on a completely different level and when mixed with his vintage multitask harass you sometimes fell like not even the observer can keep up with what's going on.
With his TvP looking this good he should be happy with his side of the bracket where he can only play TvP and TvT before an eventual finals. A possible Ro4 against Zest/Dear is as good as any, but of course the harder opponent will probably be against whoever wins group D, so probably sOs or Stats. Given their history, I think TY vs Stats is probably 50-50, but we all know how it usually goes against sOs
One can hope that some weird shit happens and GuMiHo or ByuN takes the group but that seems extremely remote.
Well I'll be damned. TY gets his wish and plays a TvT against GuMiHo in the quarterfinals. This about as good as he could have hoped for, especially since he avoids sOs.
This is going to be a fun match in witch TY is favoured, but I think GuMiHo played very well against ByuN.

It has to end at some point, right? ...right?
It must be just about a year ago that it happened last time vs GuMiHo. Would be a good way to mark the occasion by finally powering through! No doubt Gumiho is very strong in the matchup but we know that TY is a true master of TvT. I think he has looked brutal in the few online TvTs he has played lately. What's your take?
TY said something about really wanting to prove that he can go beyond Ro8 again. I dont see how he can get a bracket any better than the one he faces this time.

TY has a better chance vs Stats/sOs than Gumiho. Expect an extremely close series like the ro8 in 2017 GSL S2.

Against Stats playing like today maybe, but against sOs, TY's battle is already mentally lost before it begins. When he plays to his best, he should definitely beat GuMiho, but TY in GSL Ro8 matches... well, can he play his best for more than 2 games? Should be close, could be fun.
Holy shit, that was too close for me. But TY is back in the Ro4! Time for the big GSL revenge match against Zest.
I think the first loss was just a build-order loss, so it's a shame that TY beats himself up over that. I think he actually defended quite well. Some scouting would probably have helped though. Either way, he still looks strong. Lots of vintage moves gaining economic advantages by pinning Gumi in his base, and that sixth sense of knowing when you can attack and when you can't.

Well he was trying to cheese the shit out of herO that series and it didn't work. The only relatively normal game he won, but with the thing being an anonymous tournament it's not like he can play to his opponent or the other way around.

many people don't know that herO actually has favored winrate vs almost all the top Terran. I can name InnoVation and TY. His PvT is insane, especially on online events.
