My girlfriend says that despite imams granting them exemptions and stuff, some might still fast as a matter of "honor". Which seems utterly stupid, but might have been a factor? Lets hope that's a factor for Morocco and Iran too.

It ended last night, so maybe we'll see a difference in Egypt's game and in the next Saudi Arabia games. Another thought: Saudi Arabia got shafted actually by having to play on last day of Ramadan, just because they have to play the opener game against Russia. One could wonder if they couldn't alter the schedule so that it wouldn't have been an issue.

I wonder if Moroccan players adhere to KSA dates (because they're abroad and should adopt local times) or will stick with the Moroccan viewing that it ends tomorrow. Could make a big difference.

Was giving them the benefit of the doubt at kickoff thinking maybe people were still getting into the stadium or something but it hasn’t changed It’s a city of 1.5 mil too. Figured some neutrals would show up

Maybe that's the problem? The Yekaterins themselves are not into football and it's just too far away for anybody else?

How do Uruguay consistently manage to land their passes behind their targets? And soooooo slow.

Which from Egypt was kinda expected, missing their main man, but Uruguay has Cavani and Suárez, but they both look completely lost. And Uruguay's midfield just looks pathetic. And in all honesty, if Egypt had had Salah, they would probably be leading... because Uruguay's defense isn't great either. How do Uruguay consistently manage to land their passes behind their targets? And soooooo slow. When was the last time Cavani looked good for Uruguay in a tournament? I think they said 2 goals across 5 tournaments?

And it still looks empty, how is that even possible. Just as a comparison, Iran v Nigeria in 2014 had 39k in a 41k stadium.
