I remember playing for a while maybe a year back and all the lower level dungeons were nerfed so hard it wasn't really fun facerolling through them, and the quests are also all GPS-d now.
Is there any fun at all to be had from non-endgame content?

Most casuals have characters at the level cap, so most of the activities, whether they be super casual or super hardcore would still be considered end-game as opposed to 2005.

Is there any fun at all to be had from non-endgame content? See patch 7.3.5 ----- The darkmoon deck that reduces mana cost now apparantly reduces the holy power, fury, rage cost etc of abilities.. people using it all over to press templar's verdict on every global lol still major problems with antorus mythic because a lot of the bosses are hitting for 3x the health pool of players so they're not killable even with those damage bugs actually lots of stuff seems broken https://www.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/900wiu/blizzard_the_80_patch_is_a_level_of_quality_that/ Am glad that they didn't half the time to kill of everything like they did with the last squish but stuff like level 80-90 mobs having twice the health of 110 mobs is really off --- I've seen a ~1.15x CPU-limited FPS loss in twilight highlands with the 8.0 prepatch as well as the increase of 1 frame of input lag from losing fullscreen. I really don't appriciate that and am not looking forward to going into Boralus (one of the worst performing cities in the history of WoW) and warfronts (worst performance dips that i've seen on a modern system due to hordes of NPC's fighting) when the game runs like this.

You won't have a good idea of which class you'd actually want to play without more experience in the game and the boost would be committing to a choice and throwing yourself into the deep end. Honestly i think 8.0 patch week is the worst time in a while to pick up the game. It's good to have the 7.3.5 reworks but everything is a mess now

Very weird class design. Do the class designers not care at all if the class design makes sense at low levels?

They do the same damage until lvl 36, but RSK takes 2x the Chi, while BoK reduces the cooldown of FoF and has a 50% to refund Chi if it gets the killing blow. And then at level 36, RSK does 70% more damage, so it's still less efficient per Chi and using it means you're not reducing FoF cooldown by 2 seconds. It's not until 78 that you get your mastery that discourages you from using the same ability twice in a row. So until lvl 36, RSK is 100% a newb trap. And even after that, you're typically not gonna use it unless you have Chi to waste and want more damage in one GCD. And even when you get your mastery, at low levels of mastery I still don't think it's worth using. Very weird class design. Do the class designers not care at all if the class design makes sense at low levels? They haven't done a great job at that, some changes have been made occasionally so that stuff makes more sense (like baselining high level talents or moving them onto a lower level talent row so that they're selectable while leveling) but the lower level balance and design is of far lower quality than the max level stuff

Yes I levelled one aswell a few months back to get the heritage sets, and they only instance I ever used RSK was if I was on a big pull and wanted the extra damage to confirm a kill and get a health bar. (later on) Spamming blackout is way more efficient.

Killer Instinct - Kill Command deals 50% increased damage against enemies below 35% health. Animal Companion - Your Call Pet additionally summons the first pet from your stable. This pet will obey your Kill Command, but cannot use pet family abilities. So even ignoring the "benefits" of having another pet auto attacking or whatever which probably isn't that important, isn't that basically like comparing "Kill Command SOMETIMES does 50% more damage" to "Kill Command ALWAYS does DOUBLE damage"? Two Kill Commands for the price of one with Animal Companion? Or am I missing something silly

In fact on single-target animal companion is a very slight DPS loss right now.
