https://www.marca.com/en/football/international-football/2019/07/05/5d1fa66fe2704ead9f8b456e.html "Referee of Copa America final tarred with corruption" "the tournament's reputation is under increased scrutiny due to the fact the referee of the final, Roberto Tobar, had been previously charged with corruption. " "Tobar is set to officiate the clash between Peru and Brazil, yet he was forced to serve an eight-month footballing ban between 2012 and 2013 due to his connection with the 'Poker Club' scandal. " this can't be true bois!!! none of this is in the videogame i play!!

But to me that is just stupidity rather than corruption which is just a lazy headline by Marca. There is a reason the ban was just 12 months and not for life which it would have been if he was found to be match fixing. ZURICH (Reuters) - Ghanaian referee Joseph Lamptey has been banned for life for match manipulation in a World Cup qualifier, soccer’s governing body FIFA said Monday. Notice how when its for corrupt reaons they are banned for life?

There is no attempt to make the rules be unbiasedly applied, and VAR used with transparency. By the time it ever gets "fixed", lots of careers were already destroyed, rich got richer, thus the outcome won't change.

Well, it's a team that were favoured the entire cup, vs one that were cheated against in the entire group stage, plus didn't train on friday because of some bullshit in Rio de Janeiro. Fix won and, well whatever. I wanna see how much ban will Messi and Jesus get. Right everyone? Conspiracy and stuff??

I'm a bit worried about the logistics involved in changing the game further from the men's game while the game itself is still in such a rapid developent. I'd probably play it safe and focus more on longer term development of organizations and youth teams and all that boring basic stuff.

While smaller pitch/goals/ball might actually make an immediate improvement in the game, it would be terrible for the sport. With the complete lack of money all around development will just get massively worse if gender specific equipment were needed. Overall changes are positive, this world cup broke some impressive records with TV ratings and has already attracted some big sponsors from what I read. United, Juventus and Real have/are finally creating womens teams. But it will obviously still be a long, long time until equality of opportunity is anywhere close.

I'm also not sure if for example smaller goals alone would provide even that much short term improvement. A lot of the goals against top defensive sides were already due to occassional defensive mistakes or VAR conducted penalties. As the number of those inevitably goes down, the combination of smaller goals, constantly improving goalkeeping and lack of raw shooting power might get quite nasty. There could be some room for small scale experimentation and maybe drawing ideas from games like futsal, but I don't think it's a good idea to rush in some big changes that require extra investment and all that.

I know it could seem as a step back, but for me it will make the game for them more unique and better to watch for everyone else. I can't wait to see that being bought in and i think it would get a few more viewers just because of it for example. In Cricket for example, the womens game is changed to smaller boundaries and smaller ball which means they can still generate competitive scores in their formats of the game which makes it more enjoyable to watch. This i feel will make it the same for football, when it looks better to watch more people will watch it.

So new goals, new set of holes and a way to properly secure them so they cant be an injury risk and not affect the grass over it somehow. Even if the pro/semi pro clubs are okay with investing for this, it would be horrible for the lower division game and severely impact growth of the game, pretty much the worst thing you could do right now
