Thoughts on today's Nintendo Direct:
Arranger has a pretty clever premise - sliding floors underneath you, instead of traditional movement. Unicorn Overlord demo releases today! I'm looking forward to its March 8th release date. Monster Hunter Stories looks like some adorable turn-based fun; it's now on my radar. Release date is this summer. SMTV was amazing, so I'm definitely considering Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance (6/21/24). Penny's Big Breakaway looks like a solid platformer, and it releases today.
There's a very good chance that the Nintendo Switch becomes the best-selling video game console of all time. It seems that the only way this doesn't happen is if Nintendo releases its next-gen console very soon (which is unlikely, given that they haven't even teased - let alone officially announced - anything about a new console yet). Currently, the Sony PS2 is slightly edging out the Nintendo DS as the best-selling console of all time (155M units vs. 154M units), but the Switch is in 3rd place with over 139M units so far [1]. While the number of Switch units sold has been decreasing annually over the past 3 years from 29M to 23M to 18M [2], it's certainly possible that another 15-20M units can be sold over the next 1.5 years (all of 2024 + at least part of 2025, before the next Nintendo console comes out).
So the reason for the delay, according to IGN, in announcing and shipping of the Switch 2 is not only to stock up and combat scalpers. But also helps them have a few months time for QA etc.
I made a projection that was 100% dead wrong and, damn, am i glad to be wrong.
Retromania Wrestling came out 3 years ago on the Switch and was by far the best Wrestling game on the console. However, the AI was mediocre, it had 1/2 the amount of campaign promised and 17 out of 20 wrestlers on the roster.
The game was made by less than 5 guys, Retrosoft Studios, and I thought they had just given up. They largely fulfilled their promises. I'd say the game was 80% complete with pretty weak AI opponents.
Welp, they recently issued a giant update 3 years later. They added 2 new wrestlers for a total of 20. They created the 2nd half of the campaign and overhauled the AI. THe A.I. opponents are now a lot of fun to play.
Retromania Wrestling is good and 100% complete as promised. Thank you , Retrosoft Studios!

Well as others were saying they had nothing to show for their next gen, I'm assuming it's next gene, Pokémon game so instead all they showed was Pikachu running around a cityscape. That should be enough to game journo's and fans talking for the next year.

Most of the video was definitely underwhelming, but I loved Pokemon Legends: Arceus, so I'm looking forward to the next PL game coming out in 2025. Never played X or Y though.
I believe gen 6 (X/Y) was their first 3d game. The main city was terrible to navigate from what I remember. Not PS era FF games terrible but still years behind. It was also their first 3DS game. The game itself was pretty good, other than the transition to 3d teething issues.

Lumiose was very big and split into several sub areas but i guess that was more on hw limitations and them trying out things in a new way for Pokémon.
XY as a game was good for sure and so many years later finally there will be the Z for zygarde even if not as first thought.
I have finally finished PLA and it was good, but right now im missing a regular and standard Pokémon game. Specially since my 3yo much prefers battling and legends was more for Discovery. I never felt my team or their levels were all that relevant for my success.
I'm also less happy with the new Pokemon Legends announcement. I completed the pokedex in PLA but I kinda forced myself to do so, didn't think it was a good game. Sneaking up to a pokemon and throwing a ball at them was cool for the first 5 minutes, and after that it got old real quick. Honestly felt like a demo instead of a full game at times.

My kids love watching and playing, so hopefully your kids at some point can get into it too, but totally understand. Once mine are asleep, I just crank out as much as I can for thirty minutes.
Ring fit tips: * Don’t buy smoothies, make them * Money becomes important when you hit level 135 so collect it as you go * Also, in the hundreds, you can start selling lots of unused ingredients for more money * You add “always finish workout” or “always finish both sides” for extra exp and workout * squeezing the ring while you run earns 4xp. Spam this early on for a few extra levels * I always bought the latest and greatest outfits and it was worth it * Buy the full set for nice bonuses, I always favor atk sets. * Eventually you can double jump over enemies to skip battles and still earn xp from getting a nice jog in
I just hit level 40 and unexpectedly unlocked a Skill Tree O.O I was not expecting that lol. Really frickin cool.
Cavern of Dreams is a pretty cute Switch homage to 3D platformers of the N64 / Super Mario 64 / Banjo-Kazooie era. I'm enjoying the nostalgia, puzzles, and puns

The skill tree grows 2 more times! Horde as much money as possible. Start buying resources to make 2x resources seasame shakes and start taking them before runs. Also, once you get to world 14, one of the levels gives you dragon fruit drops (x2 with the shake). I’ll let you discover why that’s the best ingredient in the game.
