Get a decent pair of Grados or Sennheisers for $80 and you'll be much more satisfied for your money. I love my iGrado, and I would recommend them if you prefer over ear to the IEMs. http://www.amazon.com/Grado-i-Headphones-iPod-BLACK/dp/B000KN0YEY I have heard good things about the Sennheiser CX400 (or 300, not sure which one). I'm not completely sure though.

I'm liking the CX400. Does anyone have any ideas on the MX series? Also, what do you have to say about the in-ear headphones versus the... normal ones? This may sound silly, but could the focus from the in-ear ones cause damage to the ears?

I will be attending an urban school next year and some awareness of my environment would be helpful. haha. Protip: don't wear earphones in class I personally have Bose on-ear headphones. I like them cause of portability and quality, but from what I've heard they are not the greatest and expensive. Sennheisers are really good from all accounts.

Honestly if you buy something under $200, comfort is more important than sound quality.
