In fact they are more of an excuse for scrubs who thinks kills are everything to kick really good team players that enjoy playing support heroes. The shop interface of HON needs to be completely reworked and be made more dota-like, but give you the ability to purchase an item outright (i.e. buy a bracer already assembled if you can afford it). The contrast in the game is seriously fucked up - everything is way too dark, but shiny and obscured by post-processing effects. Not only contrast, but the interface as well. Blizzard games by nature have an interface that's as close to perfection as it gets in the gaming world. The problem with HON is that the interface uses different size icons for everything as well as different size fonts. Skill icons when upgrading are retardedly tiny. Item icons in the shop are retardedly big, while being too small when in your inventory. Also apparently damage and mana cost are less important than some shitty ripped off description, because they put it in the smallest font possible. The only thing clearly superior to Dota is the reconnect feature. The streamlined hero animations are nice, but by no means something to drool over. This game has potential, but it needs SO much work. I hope their devs are listening and listening well.

Otherwise it's just another analyzing tool. And sorry, but the shop interface is just plain better, all your ranting is pretty much DotA ingrain, and you are in the process of being acustomed to something different. In DotA, I have to check the recipe, read the items ingredients, and have to find all those items by hand in 5 different npc shops while remembering all the names. In HoN you simply click the recipe, and you can buy all the items directly, not even mentionning the shop has hotkeys. Items icon size are pretty much the same size as the ones in WC3, again that's ''omg it's different I,m not yet used to it unlike DoTA which I played for years'' syndrome. On my first game of HoN, I had pretty much the same mindset as you had, I thought everything was way too small and placed in wierd spots (exp bar, lvl skills, gold) but after a couple of games I realized how much better and more streamlined it actually is.

Savage 1 was like Starcraft, except there was the guy on the overhead view building stuff and making units/research, but your SCVs, Marines, Siege Tanks were all controlled by players... you could listen to your commander or tell him to go blow a goat. ah, the good ol days. Savage 1 is still played. Right now there are ~60 people on. There was also a giant community made graphics overhaul. Check out newerth.com. Sorry for being offtopic but Savage 1 is a really solid game and you can still play it.

And HoN is FUN. I'm having a blast. Got right into it and went 8-1, 12-3 in 2 games. Lol it's exactly like Dota with a few minor variations haha
