I don't think you did. I'm posting more out of desire for clarification than as a correction but wouldn't the passive voice be "some damage was caused to Iris' SCV line"? There is no subject (who caused the damage), only an object (Iris' SCV line), which is in the subject position of the sentence. Your sentence, "The goliath were able to cause some damage to Iris' SCV line", may not be to arb's taste, but is perfectly gramatical, other than that the plural of Goliath is Goliaths I think.
