Disclaimer: I'm not saying imbalance does not exist.
Starcraft II is a RTS ( Real time STRATEGY) game, and too often so far in this beta stage of this game, I see absolutely no strategy involved in a lot of the players. So many players do not even try to flank or take strategic positioning into account and just have one big ball of army attack moving.
Starcraft II made army management a lot easier allowing you to select unlimited number of units at once and put them into one control group, however, that does not mean that it's the standard play and you should just ditch everything from Brood Wars.
Too many a times I have seen on streams or replay a player starts crying imba and "OMFG HOW DO I BEAT THAT, IT'S NOT POSSIBLE, YOU ARE A JOKE!" When all he did was move a ball of army into a disadvantageous position and get the shit flanked out of himself.
Example: A few TvP match-ups when the T army decides to move in on the P with MMM/Ghosts and the the P defending with High Templars and assorted units. The T proceeds to get his ghosts feedback sniped in that big ball of army and then get storm raped transitioning into the oh so generic 'FUCKING OP' chat.
I wonder if it ever occurred to those players to hide a few flanking ghosts, snipe observers, leave some ghosts in medivacs, instead of just having 3-4 ghosts in that big clump of 'about to get owned'. The same is true vice versa and in many other match-ups.
Please bring strategy back into Starcraft II instead of the endless whining that serves no purpose in perpetuating the game into the next gen e-sport.
PS - Yes, there are imba strats which blizzard will proceed to fix such as the double rax all in scv in TvP. I know the game is in the beta stages and the players are still inexperienced, I'm simply commenting on the unhealthy attitude a vast number of the player base is currently sporting.

dunno why there was no post like this earlier.
I think this extends to unit imba cries as well.
should be some form of sticky about this

The double rax all-in TvP rush lost its trend in the Korean community from which it originated. The popular opinion from PlayXP now is that protoss players can overcome it with control. So the double rax all-in might not be as imba as suggested in this forum and in the post.
|
You might be right nujgnoy, I have not completely looked into that strat or tried in custom games to see if it's that imba, it just seem to be the general consensus that it has a 95% success rate.

sounds like OP has been waching orbs stream
|
cool story bro...
So many posts have been made like this, and no one cares. Obviously noobs will be noobs and cry imba, and some people will just jump the gun. Learn to let it be..
|
The example was from orb's stream since it was the most recent memory I can dig up, but it happens all the time in other match-ups too.
Pokebunny: I know the crying can never be stopped, I just wish it can change the perspective of even a few players who think that way, it's just so unhealthy especially in the beta stages of a game where the devs are looking at community feedback and most of the community have no clue what they are doing.

this should be the featured article for teamliquid's starcraft 2 section

God these threads are so bad... How about reading the SC2 boards before posting something that has already been said every week since the beta started.
You are not a clairvoyant. People cry imba to vent. Get the fuck over it.
|
I'm sure some people use that as a means to vent frustration, but most people have their mind set on that it's not their gameplay, rather the balance that's causing them to lose. If it was just venting I wouldn't give a fuck, but it's really not. Simply looking at the trend of the strategy/sc2 forums it's not meant to be rant/vent.
