Right now it just seems to have become a haven for subpar progamers who either a) Sucked too much to be given a chance play broadcasted Sc1 games (JulyZerg) b) Had a mediocre brood war career so they switched over to make a name for themselves (theSTC, Tester, and now Iron).
With no offense to the man, I don't really see this as too significant. He switched to SC2 because his BW career more or less tanked. I remember he was pretty far down in the in house rankings Sorry to bump this but is there anyone to find a definitive list of the brood war players that now play sc2? I know July, Tester, TheSTC, IntotheRainbow, Iron, Cool, Junwi. Any that I am missing?

iron[kal] is aa monster, im pretty excited about this

Sorry but from the link to sc2ranks it appears he is the best in the world points wise?

Any replays out there of this guy?

he's playing tomorrow right? should be pretty sweet, FLOUNDER FIGHTING!

Why wouldn't all bw players come to sc2 now, seeing as how their employer/kespa is about to be annihilated?

Iron at 1900 ladder points now. 100 more than the next highest guy.

rooting for iron i feel like he has a greater motivation than anybody else if he was telling the truth in that one interview
- You must have a strong determination since you gave up progaming for this. ▲ Since I joined oGs, I will get to at least Ro4 to hold up the name of the clan. I want to earn a lot of money for my mother.

a-teamers wont switch unless theres a clear financial incentive to do so and GSL doesn't cut it because its a 1 trick pony tournament that doesnt offer real career incentives. its awesome but theres no point for seriously competitive a-teamers to bother with sc2 until its a viable career switch I dunno, if there is something as big as GSL always going on it is a fairly viable career switch. If you just make the RO16 each month thats over $20k a year in earnings. If you are a player like flash or jaedong and can consistently make the top 10 in tournaments, then it would be pretty good actually. Just winning one monthly tournament would be close to what he makes in a year right now. Then there is the possibility of winning a million bucks at the end of next year.
I think that if anything its not a viable career switch for b team people that might not always make it to the RO16.

At least some chance to succeed eh?
Interesting that the first to switch has become the protoss champion.
What's also interesting to me--looking at his BW career, he only has one career televised win--but it was vs Effort, who has ALMOST a 70% ZvP winrate all-time.
Thoughts on this, TL?

He was just propably practised to snipe Effort... Like Snow sniped Flash~~

That's hardly a discussion worth necroing this thread for, IMO.
