It's difficult to find benchmarks for the card for SC2, since most review sites aren't geared towards users that would game on such a low-end card, but here is a start. As always, note their testing scenario. No disrespect, but I think pyrofang has at least a HD 5750 (not 5570) or something else more powerful, and is mistaking that with the HD 5570. Even at really low resolutions, a HD 5570 shouldn't be able to do 70 fps in a maxed out 1v1 battle on ultra.

The HD 5770 is a (now) low budget card that plays SC2 excellently at ultra settings. It can outperform or perform comparably to some high-end cards of the previous generation (the HD 4850, and GTX 260) and is great value in general. I really think the people who are talking about playing SC2 on ultra with a 5570 have mistaken it with the 5770. Both those cards are beginning to be obsolete with the advent of the radeon 6000- series, although it will be a while before a new HTPC card supporting HDMI 1.4a will be released.

While the HD 5570 is an HTPC card it's nothing like as bad for gaming as some of them are.

However, much of a GPU's power can be determined by looking at the specifications of the card. Those are generally available from the manufacturer's or AMD's website or via a program like GPU-Z. The HD 5570 debuted at the $75-80 price range, so at the very least that should tip you off that it won't be a heavy-duty card. A reputable finnish hardware site (just don't go anywhere near their forum) benchmarked the HD 5570 with the following configuration: * Intel Core i5-750 (2,66 GHz, Turbo Mode 3,2 GHz) * Asus P7P55D Deluxe (Intel P55) * 2x Corsair 2 Gt DDR3-1333 (7-7-7-20 1T) * Western Digital Caviar Black WD1001FALS 1 Tt SATA II * Western Digital Caviar SE 320 Gt SATA * Antec TruePower Quattro 850 W * Fujitsu-Siemens Scenicview P24 (1920x1200) (Note that the power supply is extreme overkill for a card like this) They achieved scores of 8167 in 3dmark 06 and 4263 in 3dmark vantage. The HD 5770 was tested with the same configuration, and achieved scores of 15987 and 9138 in d3mark 06 and d3mark vantage respectively. We can deduce then, that the HD 5770 more than doubles the performance (according to the newer 3dmark vantage) of the HD 5570. I assume you can't expect 60 fps from SC2 at medium settings with the HD 5570, which I would classify as performing very badly for a desktop PC. If you're trying to build a HTPC that you want to run starcraft above low settings, I suggest you use at least a HD 5670. I think the HD 5670 should be able to get pretty high FPS at medium settings. If you're looking to get a cheap GPU that will run SC2 at high settings, I suggest you look to older cards like the HD 4850, GTX 260, GTS 250, 9800GTX+/GTX, 8800 GTS, and so on. You may have to get them second hand, though. EDIT: There have been several benchmarks provided by Tom's Hardware for the HD 5570, which suggest it can run SC2 @ 60fps on medium settings with a 1280x1024 resolution. Disregard everything I said before. I didn't think anyone would bother to bench the 5570 for SC2. There's a thread linked in the FAQ that can help you optimize image quality and performance. In fact, all of your questions would've been solved by the FAQ.
