(i think the answer is yes, if not than yeah go cut weight) WHY YOU SO HARD RAUL? On January 15 2011 22:32 rEiGN~ wrote: My reset on press and squat seem to have done wonders. 3x5x50kg press with minimal sweat yesterday, and I had b]en stuck on that weight for a while. Same for squat, 3x5x100kg. To people using a belt on squat or deadlift, what kind of feeling made you start using a belt? I belt up when i'm maxing out because it keeps my shit together if i lose my form when in case i'm attempting a weight outside my means. Basically i feel you only need one if you're worried about your losing your form (which can lead to injury) which means you're probably working with too much weight and using the belt as a crutch. dimsum recently started using one for his oly lifts and he's a beast so i'm sure he has a good reason :D On January 16 2011 01:34 rEiGN~ wrote: Also, just bought a scale. From 72kg to 80kg in 5½ months. That's 159lbs → 176lbs for the uncivilized. Sick sick gains. On January 16 2011 02:01 sJarl wrote: Sooooo instead of going for 107.5kg x 20 or something like the program says I decided to go for a max lift to know where I was at after my operation. Was planning on going for something around 140kg but my training partner didn't like that one bit and demanded I go for 160kg. My all time best was 185kg. Started out with: 110kg x 3 120kg x 2 140kg x 1 (pretty smooth but a little slow...) 150kg x 1 (double overhand grip from me holds to this level, just barely locked it out before the bar slipped. Decided to switch to mixed grip, chalked up and put on this little masterpiece: A good sniff of ammonia and BAM! Smashed the 160kg like it was nothing! So we ramp it up, and set it up for 180kg. Same song, more ammonia. Piece of cake. Only thing left to do: go for the kill and set 190kg on the bar. Nailed it. No hitching, no nothing. Just a smooth solid lift. Beat my all time PR by 5kg. Jim Wendler's 5/3/1 and high rep deads are delivering. I've never even gone above 105kg since I started doing deads again. Time to eat. FUCK YEAH. beast mode. whats your bodyweight again? I dunno about salts and what not but whatever floats your boat ^_^ If you and shallow keep this shit up i'm going to have to starting lifting more I dont even know where the fuck my deadlift/squat are right now. Might do some tomorrow if i'm not sore for the first time since tuesday lol. On January 16 2011 03:03 AoN.DimSum wrote: uhh heres a pic of me...im on the left. @KizZBG: I've been doing plenty of these this winter. Only thing I add is 2-300 of skyr (Icelandic dairy product, 13,3g protein per 100g and almost no carb and fat). Love it. EDIT: @Decaf: It was my first time using ammonia. I love it. It is like breathing fire into your lungs. I'm at 90-91kg. Depends on the days

@reign, I started using a belt because I have trouble keeping tight when I front squat and when I jerk. I will probably use it for back squat and clean and jerk too. I also need to work on my core a lot more. The belt is def a good way for me to lift better. My coach recommended me to use it so I tried. Im not sure what level you are at, but if you dont have to use it, dont.

Yes still on SS since it's still working for me. Goals? Just to be healthy, fucking strong and be huge and ripped :o! My goal was 75kg but I'm guessing I shall top that and move it up to 80-85 :0? What do you think?

Maybe you'll need to back off and reduce some bf but just keep on going. Goals need to be reevaluated regularly. With yesterday's deadlift I'm only 10kg off from my goal of the year...Bumping it up to 220 at least
