He only uses one eye too don't you know anime stereotypes those swordsmen with the use of one eye are always overpowered.
Not to mention they have sharingan!
Zoro too pro
and luffy had his legs tied up too. I guess that was oda's way of showing luffy was strong...although he could have totally broken free of the ropes and not get tied up in the first place lol. Luffy was probably going, hmm, why are they tieing me up? Arent they good guys? and then hes like...this rope belongs to good guy = I'm not gonna break it.
And van decken was too obviously evil

Once again One Piece didn't disappoint.
Uhm no, AohigeAP confirmed that there are no mentioning stronger enemies.

Take it easy guys, he haven't eaten those ES's yet.
They are gonna get conceited and stuff and then seem to be out of control and then just be like "nah" and then own em probally lol

Great chapter. As I suspected Hodi and VDD will not be really the big villians in this arc. They get owned by tied Luffy and Zoro who is underwater.
|
Zoro didn't even use three sword, did he? :D But I think that fight is far from over. Hodi still have his pills. Don't know if VDD will have some tricks up his sleeve though. At least we know that Luffy hasn't used his full power yet.

A bit of action and plot advances.
The white sword is the sword from his hometown right? And his has the 3rd gen. ghostsword frp, Logue (crappy translation) and the one from that legendary dude from Thriller Bark arc.
I wonder if he kept his broken Yubashiri?

Gooooooooooood chapter. Zoro is so freakin badass.

Okay I think the reason Jimbe didn't want Hodi to fight with Luffy is because if Hodi were to get owned by him, the fishmen would rise against the humans with Hodi as a martyr. Or at least that's what the chapter implied.

Yeah, after this it is pretty safe to assume that the reason why Jimbei didn't want Luffy to fight Hodi was not his strengths. The possibiliy that the reason is that Jimbei thinks that Hodi is actually a good guy has also decreased within the last chapters. He is pretty obviously just an evil supremacist.
So the only other thing that comes to my mind are powerful allies of Hodi. Maybe they can make it impossible/tough for Straw Hats to get into the New World? I don't know, we just have to wait I guess.
|
maybe jinbei just wants to solve his own problems and beat the shit out of hodi himself
|
might be similar as if luffy said "dont touch akainu, hes mine" maybe?
|
Good stuff. I think Jinbei fear is related to the possibility that the defeat of Hodi triggers a greater disaster. Since it's now clear that the strenght of VD and Hodi doesn't mean a high risk for the crew, at least not at the current state. I guess Zoro will end kicking his amphibious-ass at the same time that Jinbei explains himself to Luffy and/or Namy so we all go "Aw... snap".

i dont think anyone oda introduces can be a mtch for SH at this point unless they are enel status or already known about like admirals etc
|
what? he still havent sip on the fishman steroid yet.
|
i hope usopp eats a pill actually
|
Let's not forget that the mercenary fishman swordsman was called strong by Luffy. I think it's safe to assume that there are more strong fellows around in the shadows. I highly doubt beating a few criminals is going to cause an uprising like some people are suggesting.
Edit : grammar...wow that was awful.

omg. That would be brilliant.

If you read the re-translation of the page where Camie and Nami discuss Hodi, aparantly Hacchi mentioned that Hodi's most dangerous aspect was his mind not his power.
Even though people got disappointed the translation wasn't "stronger people", I'm happy. Last time someone with a dangerous mind engineered a plan: Alabasta had a civil war. Consider me actually excited for this arc.

It seems likely that Sanji'll fight Vander Decken to continue his "protect the princess, how dare you threaten a lady as beautiful as her" theme. At least he didn't spout more blood than a Kill Bill movie this time around.
Hodi obviously hasn't taken his pills, and Zoro isn't fighting at full strength (and is underwater). Hard to say how that fight'll turn out. Zoro may have to fight in the water the whole time so that his "true" strength won't be seen until a later story arc. Oda is nothing if not patient. The presence of a swordsman does scream "I'm Zoro's opponent for this arc!" but who knows. Maybe Oda'll change it up due to Luffy vs. poison that's weak sauce compared to Magellan's poison. Would be very uncharacteristic for Luffy to fight someone "weaker" like that while another crew member is fighting a stronger opponent, though.
