The Dr. Pepper/Snapple Group is proud to announce that it will now be using it's A&W trademark Root Beer products to sponsor ROOT Gaming at MLG Dallas this weekend. This mutually beneficial partnership was finally agreed upon by both parties after extensive meetings between management on both sides. Representatives from A&W are pleased that it's ROOT Beer products will be backed by such reputable gamers, and the Dr.Pepper/Snapple Group hopes this will be a first step in further sponsoring esport in the near future. Good luck to both parties at this weekends event.
In the March 1995 acquisition of Dr Pepper/Seven-Up Companies, Inc., by Cadbury Schweppes plc, of London, A&W became part of the renamed Dr Pepper/Seven Up, Inc. Today, regular and Diet A&W Root Beer are the number one root beers in all measurable channels. A&W Cream Soda is the top branded cream soda.
Much has changed since Roy Allen first sold root beer on that summer day in 1919, but the one thing that hasn't is the rich, smooth taste of A&W Root Beer.
Since its formation, ROOT Gaming has dominated the North American Starcraft 2 competitive gaming scene. There is no team in North America that comes close to ROOT Gaming’s accomplishments, as a team or as individuals!
Our goal as a team is not just to be the best, but also to be an important part of the Starcraft 2 community for casual and competitive gamers alike. With our website finally being launched, our goal is to create a place where players can come to find out the latest news, learn the game no matter what your skill level, and of course watch team members showcase their talent. As a team we will work hard to constantly improve, and focus on treating all other players with good manner and respect. Lastly, Root Gaming promises to do everything in our power to make Starcraft 2 into best possible game and e-Sport that it deserves to be.

EDIT-
Look, everyone needs to know that I am NOT affiliated with ROOT Gaming whatsoever. The whole ROOTBeer thing was started one evening in the chat room on Destiny's stream. About 36 hours later, stuck at home with strep throat and nothing to do, I decided to make an Ap-ril F-oolz post for TL. I've been on here awhile and I don't really post a lot, so I wanted to make sure I put forth a good effort. I spent more time on the "press release" than the wallpaper (obviously) and added the little note on the bottom of the wallpaper so everyone would know it was an Ap-ril F-oolz gag. I posted and sat back. Most everyone had a laugh, and I was pleased with how everything turned out.
Then I see pics on @sc2rootgaming of the new t-shirts and holy balls they have SPONSORS!!! Now here is where I truly facepalm since all I wanted were a few lulz, and now in the back of my mind I'm thinking 'No one will believe this thanks to my poorly timed joke'. The irony of the teams lack of sponsorship was obviously lost on me, and I guess I'm not as big a fan of them as I think since this didn't come to mind while making the post.
I am beyond ecstatic for the ROOT Gaming Team and their new sponsors!! I am a HUGE fan of them, and I wish them all the best this weekend at MLG and in the future. I will be watching (if the stream ever comes up again) and I WILL be knocking back some frosty root beers!! I still think A&W Root Beer would make a baller sponsor, IMO.
Sorry again for the now poorly timed posting, I hope there are no hard feelings from the guys at ROOT.
ROOT Hwaiting!!!
