How can they profit if they invest so much into a sc2 team with these luxury? Do they get anything out of this (Or is it just purely advertisement)?
Short answer: they don't.
Advertisement is the very basic principle of corporate sponsorship anyway. That is why companies finance racing teams (which are a huge cash dump due to required research & developtment). One part of success is mere brand presence. It benefits FXO in the long run for their name to be simply known. By the time the majority of the audience graduates, they will earn money themselves and possibly looking into ways of investment.
If done right- and so far FXO has displayed quite a level of professionalism and general "smoothness" of their events and engagements, people might subconsciously tie that experience to their corporate services and products. At the very least, it is highly probable.

this place is amazing. goodluck FXO!

After talking with Boss the other day on Skype and now seeing all of these pictures, jealously doesn't even begin to explain all of this.

Its not that big deal. They are missing personal massage ladies and other related services. I am dissapoint.
|
BRB, getting good enough to be invited to live there.
Seriously though, living in a house like that, with servants, discussing and playing Starcraft? This is a nerd dream. There's no comparison between this and Korean player houses, this is more like a player villa!

Haha, boom boom massages.

The only problem it's in Malaysia ;D

Wow sick house I wish they would focus on having a better team though.

Grats, guys. Hope to talk to you more on Sheth's stream chat. Pretty awesome thing you're doing for esports.
|
Wow that's sick. Awesome house !

Someone has killed drug lord. And FXO bought the mansion from the state?
|
Amazing house, looks TONS more comfortable than most other gaming domiciles. Good luck to FXO
|
I know if I ever need some foreign currency to be brokered who I'll be going through at least ;D
edit: But i'd be super pissed if I stepped outside one day after getting scv marine all in'd to take a breather and end up getting eaten by a god damn tiger or something.

Oh my gosh, this is amazing. I suspect this crazy house is part of a plan for FXO to poach players from korean teams- who could pass on the chance to live in a house like this?!?
|
Wow.... Any word on what players will be living in the house yet?

BUT, Kuala Lumpur !? To me that sounds totally retarded to be honest. Are you going to ladder on SEA with 500 ping? I dont get this move at all tbh. You don't get it because your facts are horrible...You obviously havent played sc2 in Kuala lumpur before.. 0 ping to KR 0 ping to SEA 50ms or less to NA 50ms or less to EU... At least with the internet in said house. No Ive never played SC2 in Kuala Lumpur. It wouldnt even cross my mind to do so. Unless they have some magical internet in kuala lumpur that transmits faster than light I doubt they ping 50 ms to NA. Edit: If youre their manager I am seriously worried for this team. Good luck with what youre doing though.
Well, without him there wouldn't be a team.
I think a guy who runs a company which is succesful enough to spend thousands of dollars monthly into an e-sports team has enough common sense to test internet speed and oversea routing before laying money on the table for the house.
It's great having guys like him around in the e-sport scene who not only have the passion, but also the money, to put something up. And who also has enough generosity to grant his players that sort of luxury. Because, again, if you look at the korean team "houses" you wouldn't really think that there is much money on the table. This definitely helps e-sport a lot and make it look much bigger than the korean scene.

Is FXO Hiring people full time? ^^ haha
I've heard the stories and stuff about the house and seen a couple pictures and damn that is one hell of a place.
|
FXOpen = FXAwesome (it hurt to type something that corny).
Seriously though, I'm impressed with the lengths you guys are going to. Impressive to see what you guys are packing interns of resources and what you're willing to put forward for all of this. Can't wait to hear more about it and who will be there!

And it's hard to get a sense of scale from these width-limit cropped photos.
Just curious about that, but of course it looks like an awesome team house in any event. Its 10,000
I think this is bigger than my grandparents house, why the gaurds?
