What IS stupid is people splurging on 100w tube amps, no offense. When will you EVER crank dat? An arena? I played in a band and never turned the volume on my 15w tube amp more than halfway (just the amount of dirt I like). And venues have mics.

He has the robot one too (self tuning), he doesn't even play guitar that much. its not bad but I kinda like my fenders... they are cheap but sound awesome there are $3000 fenders dude... mexican fenders are comparable to higher end epiphones in quality. american fenders cost around the same as american gibsons. robot is silly though, i got one of these no more plucking strings one at a time to tune! honestly i trust a machine more than people's ears. too many "by ear" tunings have sounded off to me, leave it to the machines G&L's are also sweet...leo fender's company after he left fender. probably my next pedal. yeah yeah might be gearlust but it has a unique fuzz tone..and tone is part of writing music. imagine the strokes with metallica type tone, or metallica with strokes type tone. shit, pure shit

Don't buy Fender amps... they are Tube amps but they have too mcuh electronics in them. I like mine, don't get me wrong, but I wish I would have bought something else like an Orange. VOX are tight too, I want to get something liek 2'x2', I might trade in my big 30w amp, I honestly never even use it its just way too loud even at like 3 volume.

NOW I get it!!! I might get one. That pedal looks so gnarly! Boutique pedals are the shit. I just have a couple KORGs. I got a ds-1 distortion and a Flanger. Yeah my American Telecaster was around 700$... That's a pretty good deal for american made. It's brand new too. I have 2 Chinese acoustics from fender and the one is so-so and the bass I just got so I can't really say the quality of that. My mexican p-bass is top notch I wouldn't trade that for anything. I know you can get more expensive Fenders but I would say as a rule of thumn Gibsons are a lot more expensive. They kind of have more to them though they just seem heavier and have more of a hand-made aspect to them.

I did not realize that the orange amps did not produce clean tones easily. My Fender produces really amazing clean tones I think I kind of took that for granted. I have never got to play on an Orange AMP I just saw a band Hollerado had one live recently and I had been looking into them for a few years now.

main point: it depends on the model (general rule of thumb, something like mesa boogies will be super dirty, oranges can be pretty dirty, vox are less dirty, fenders can be pretty clean), wattage (higher wattage's only practicality is clean tones at higher volumes, or if you really hate mic-ing your amp, and to break your back), and your guitar of course. the orange is kinda dark sounding and meshes well with my bright ass tele. sounds totally different with a les paul (which is already dark to begin with)...too muddy. the orange's clean tone is fine (not great), but i would have to mic it if i ever wanted that tone. and you never want to really depend on the sound guy, they are usually idiots. guitar centers carry oranges now, if they have them in canada. they used to not be sold at any major brick-and-mortar store

I think I made a mistake in wattage... I don't actually know what mine runs at ... this is what i have though. Its way too loud for my purposes.

There are loads of situations that you would not want a standart tuning. Also man, you should trust your ears, or train them if you don't, really.

(Well the Zoom G7.1ut and the Ibanez Weeping Demon I bought in 2006 and 2009, respectively.) As you can see, I also use: - Planet Waves "Up In Flames" Joe Satriani strap - Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinky (9 to 46) strings on standard tuning - Jim Dunlop Jazz III picks, specifically the Eric Johnson signature I had a Genesis 25 watt amp back in Manila. But now that I'm here in KL, I play these through earphones. In 2004, I had a Zoom 606, but years before that, I got to experience the Zoom 1010 and the 707-II. In high school, I also used a Boss Metal Zone. I love the raw sound of the stompboxes, but multi-effects was the economical and convenient way to go for me. In 2007, I also had a Behringer Hell Babe wah, but it was horrible. I play lots of rock, metal and prog. My plan is to get new Dimarzio Crunch Lab and Liquifire pick ups for this guitar, and an Ibanez RG1527 7-string guitar and another Ibanez 6-string, like the RG471AH, that I can down-tune. I was about to change my strings when I suddenly remembered reading this thread yesterday. So i snapped a pic of my stuff and posted here.
