Hong Kong doesn't suit very well because it is like some special zone of china and not to comfortable for people to get there. And also a question - why didn't they come up with holding up one of the semis in China. I think that would already be something special for chinese fans. And even more - how about one semis in China and another one in Japan/USA and the epic finals in Korea so it would really be something special and at the same time not crashing their plans on expanding outside of Korea.

I don't know. How many people actually go to Busan from Seoul to watch as opposed to people who already live in Busan just showing up at the beach? To those people from the rest of the country who wouldn't make a special trip anyway, it's probably no matter whether the final is held in Busan or Shanghai.

Don't you need a passport to go to China though? edit: also plane tickets are probably going to be more expensive/inconvenient than train/bus fare.

I am sure there are TV channels that are interested.

its not "droves of koreans". I've read articles on korean newspaper websites about newly rich chinese people (from their economic growth) going to korea for kpop concerts, visit korean drama shooting locations, plastic surgery, etc etc
