wow, some online manual is required if you really want to play i guess, for research, ship types
some thing I am not sure if they are supposed to be or not -conqueror and other ships having no weapons even when I gave them ie torpedos when designing -researched technology has sooooo low stats its not worth it to research (dont know if 10 000 credits is enough for a research) -ships with hyperspace jump use it even when moving on very short distances

the problem is I made a hull research for 10k, and it was far inferior to the basic one, less room for accessory, more expensive etc

Well, yeah basic tech needs a big redesign sometime in the future. I made basic techs before the research, when I will remake it I want it to base on certain budget, like if you would have researched it, but it will take lots of time to add them and I want some more balancing on other areas first.

On another note, what's up with the research?
From what I understand, the research quality is based solely on the credits you put in. I think it should be possible to research better tech by continually researching it, i.e: 10k research over and over again makes it better every time.
So this is something a lot of people haven't been able to figure out - how can I find out how many administration facilities I need to take another planet? I understand their effectiveness is important as well.

As this map has started to pick up in popularity recently on the NA servers, I am wondering if there are any dedicated players who would be willing to help me out in figuring out better ways to tech up my spaceships. I can't seem to get a good enough layout size even with 100-200k research ship hulls to be able to sufficiently upgrade my attack forces.
No matter how good of drives/hull/shields/weapons I develop I can't seem to get a ship capable of carrying enough weight to support more than 2 custom loadout options (and generally this is leaving me with my 5th or 6th upgrade model still having 200-300 hp and 100-200 shields and yet, all of my opponents seem to have no trouble getting triple my dps and over 1000 shields on their ships) I can't help but think I have either extremely bad luck with my research results, or I need to start picking research style race at the very beginning over economic style race.
