In terms of the visual BR, I think there's a few too many picture-in-pictures, it makes some parts a little hard to follow. More minimap shots would help as well.

I think more shots of the minimap and a bit more linear flow of the images would have helped me quite a bit. Still though, it's pretty awesome.

With 200 energy he could have landed two maelstroms as well, I can imagine that working decently in case of a mass-hydra surprise. That said, I'm not sure either why was he so archon-heavy, maybe because his archives was busy researching maelstrom and mc? Or maybe he just doesn't like using too many templar with his low apm? I haven't seen enough replays of his to tell. On March 16 2012 07:04 Harem wrote: http://repdepot.net/replay.php?id=25351 This should be the replay if you want that instead to compare timings. ? Thankfully, I know every single expo spot and how it looks. Cuz I make maps. Great BR. Edit: FOR THOSE WHO DON'T GET WHY HE GOT DAs. He was on templar tech with zealot speed and he saw or guessed (doesn't show in screenshots) that lurkers are coming. He can either go all the way to robo tech and get observers or just get dark archons and mind control an overlord. He chose the latter. Risky, since scourge can kill overlords without detection, but cool and flashy. Or I could be totally wrong and he got them for some other reason, or as a combination.

KwarK is a very reactionary player. They played around 7-8 games in this ladder session, and iirc, Mondi went mutas in the majority of them. A DA with maelstrom and an archon hard counters muta so bad, so he originally got it for that, but when Mondi went for lurker instead of muta, it was just quick thinking to use the DA to mind control and bust the front. To my knowledge this is what happened anyway, he might come here and say I'm wrong, I've talked to him a lot and I know pretty well how he plays though. Still confused how KwarK lost this though heh.

I think it wasn't as risky just because Mondragon had no idea Kwark would try to do something like that and thats what made it so brilliant. Kwark didn't go heavy sair so Mondragon had no scourge around and wasn't expecting obs to be out for alittle later so he had no reason to have scourge at the situation. Also Kwark in the rep from what I remember was building his robo or it was done while he was attacking so he was going to have obs coming out anyways so even if Mondragon got to snipe the overlord after he would have lost his nat already and obs would be coming soon. But definitely something that could be done only really once.

Instead of going "he's on 1 gas, I'm gonna lock down and stop him expanding and wait for him to starve" I suicided trying to end the game because "holy shit I'm gonna beat Dissy!!!". With my main army dead he was able to retake his main while abusing the cheap mineral heavy crackling/drop style to get map control with no gas and few minerals. Then he just played me, taxing my multitasking abilities while recovering and eventually I ran out of steam.

Here's some constructive criticism: - Use more black open space. I think you can achieve clearer results by having less images stuck together, that way chronology will be easier to get (things that happen at the same time on different places of the map can be next to eachother for example) -Show more map overviews! I felt lost mostly because of that -Perhaps add some mineral / pop counts at keypoints? I loved the added 'kills: x' detail next to those units Other than that some great composition, loved how you showed that sair being chased and blown up. The part of the attack on mondragon's main was kinda chaotic, but I liked that. It was a nice representation of the pace of the game!
