Kwanro will be joining the army on May 30th. To make this clear for everyone, he will NOT be joining the ACE team. He thanks several names (mostly coaches, etc). He wants this message to be spread everywhere to let everyone know that the reason for his retirement is NOT because of any wrongdoing (lol).
Good luck in the next chapter of your life Kwanro.
During my time as a progamer, I truthfully had a really really good time and had lots of fun~~ (or is this a lie... keke) [T/N: He's trolling here]
To all the team's front men (I'm really sorry that I ;;; only have these words to say ㅠㅠ) who made me realize and learn a lot of things at CJ Entus, Woongjin Stars, SK Telecom T1 (I really had the confidence that I could have done better again, I'm eternally sorry ㅠㅠㅠ;; ), along with Coach Cho, Manager KIMDONGWOO (? keke), Manager Lee Jae Gyun, Coach S.E.S, Coach SONJJANG, Manager Jun Chae Hoon, Coach Park, Coach Cha Ji Hoon, Coach Doctor.K, Coach iloveoov, the journalist guy at T1, and all the aunties who prepared food for me along with the teammates who lived with me; I'm always thinking of you guys.
Of course when I was still living with all of you, because I was really lacking in human relationships, everyone may not remember me, but I really think that the relationship I had with everyone was a really, keke, special one, and I'll always support you guys!!
Because of my hasty nature, I wasn't able to end [my career] well, but to my eyes, rather than being able or unable to seize more opportunities, in order to show everyone a more impressive(?) life, I quit, but because I absolutely have no regrets of gaming, I'll always support eSports for my whole life and give my love to it ^^
As for my personal plans for the future, after I go off to the army and survive there, I'll vigorously do something wholesome (studying keke) and do my best so that I'll live with a good image and have good memories, and if everyone also supports me a lot, that would be great~ ^^ keke
I'll use my Cyworld to leave a lot a lot of news about me from now on~~ hehe My fan cafe has already shut down a long time ago ^^ kekeke
I'll receive everyone's sincerity kekeke Even though there's not much to see on my homepage ㅠㅠㅠ keke I'll do my best to report any news of me as fast as I can kekeke
★ Because many people from all over can read this entry, it would be great if everyone could spread the word~ kekeke I'll be a bit embarrassed for everyone to read it, but oh well... ㅠㅠ keke
Why I want everyone to spread the word is because I want everyone to know that I didn't quit gaming because of doing anything bad or because I wanted to just slack off and play!! kekeke But the truth is that slacking off and playing sounds really fun dammit ㅠㅠㅠ Before I go off to the army, I'm thinking of delaying the enlistment date a bit and playing for a little bit more ;;; kekeke [T/N: Not playing games, but just slacking off in general, although he could play some more Starcraft in his free time before he enlists]
Ah that's right, my fans are the ones that I remember the most in my memories hehehe I'm really really thankful to all you guys ^^ From now on, in order to upgrade myself, I'll be going ALL-IN!! ...heheh~

yes. it seems he wants to leave the esports scene completely. i remember seeing him as a young 14 year old in the xellos wcg documentary. i think its fair he wants to change his career path.
Everytime i see him i get the remembrence of a particular game i saw live back in 2007-08. It was on Bluestorm vs Light where he had fought of mass Wraiths with Mutas, Scourges and a couple of Spores placed neatly in his main and nat i think. Everyone thought he was going lose mid game but a sudden unexpected turn took place and the game suddenly swung in Kwanro favor and without much resistance he secured his victory
With all the other guys who resurrected their careers (to some extent) in ACE, I was hoping to see Kwanro attempt to do the same. Well, esports isn't what everyone wants to do forever, so good luck to kwanro in whatever he does in the future.
Kwanro, good luck in life! You played some amazingly entertaining games whether winning or losing. One of my favorite hyper aggressive zergs. We'll miss you.
NOOOOOOOOO KWANROOOOOOOOOO... again. Dangit, we always hear sad news of Kwanro these days.... But I wish him the best of luck in the army. ㅠㅠ You'll always be my favorite Zerg player! I always loved seeing his all-ins; no other player has style and flair with Zerglings like him. :'(
Here's a translation of his message; he uses a quite cutesy tone with his writing:

Big mistake going to T1. He was a silver medalist, regular in Ro16 of individual leagues and a solid Proleague player. Then suddenly faded into nowhere.

I don't remember that at all but I was planning on watching that doc again today so lol.
Wasn't his hiatus and subsequent retirement due to more of a slight mental breakdown? I remember that he was having a rough time not too long ago and in therapy.
He would melt so much face on ACE team. Perhaps due to the universality of the applicability of his strategies, hence being suitable for the limited training schedule of Air Force.

Although I've never been a kwanro fan (never really seen him play lately, actually) hearing the retirement of a someone who has dedicated so much to something he once loved is always sad news.
Though I absolutely hated you sometimes, everyone NEEDS someone incredible like you! You brought LOLs and OMGs and OTLs like no other player could. I'll miss you so much for all the KWANROLLS you performed over your miraculous career!!!
I'm going to miss Kwanro, one of my favourite zergs. I was quite happy that he moved to SKT. Too bad he's not going to play in ACE, guess I won't be able to say kwanrolled ever again.
I thought he'd win with 5 pool against 12 hatch in that first set of the finals. Contrary to vid comments, Kwanro didn't get "clamrolled" - he kwanrolled himself with that terrible ling vs drone engagement. Grasping defeat from the jaws of victory, indeed.
Still, Kwanro was the most aggressive player ever. He was one of the most exciting and entertaining players in the entire scene. Thank you for the great games.

It's just cause he doesn't want to play anymore. If he wanted to join ace he would have joined the air force rather than the army lol.
The thing I always find it hilarious was that he played for CJ, the team with all the great zergs with their amazing macro/hive style. And then there's this lone guy who never seem to have more 3 hatches or beyond lair tech.
Good old Kwanro. Effort is probably the only Zerg who has successfully implemented his "fuck lair" style into high-profile games (he basically beat Flash by playing like Kwanro) and yet he's gone now. It was clear he was more-or-less done when SKT never even tried to send him out and he went nowhere in solo leagues.
