Stats: 86-60 (58.9%) 2. Movie: 76-67 (53.1%) 3. Horang2: 68-48 (58.6%) 4. SnOw: 54-47 (53.5%) 5. Sea.GuemChi: 48-58 (45.3%) His on-and-off relationship with Brood War and streaming in general after his professional career came to a close hasn't exactly helped his legacy, but there was once a time when Movie was the next bright hope for the protoss race. Despite his extremely low APM, his sturdy yet potent style versus zergs (Movie has one of the highest professional career win rates versus the zerg race from the protoss race), always allowed Movie to progress past those pesky zerg players in the individual leagues unlike most of his peers.

So I've been trying to watch some Korean streams and a lot of the players are easy to recognise via thumbnails or usernames etc, but I can't find soulkey. Could someone give me a link to his steam please?

In all seriousness, back in like 2014/15 when SSL was still ongoing, he would barely be practicing then he would come in and advance from his group against all expectations. He also had great PvZ as well but sadly, doesn't practice or stream much anymore afaik so he's not in the same form as he was in the past. Teacher Movie fighting! ~

There's something to be said for just having the ability to win games when it matters. Regardless of any perceived differences in skill I'd take Shine over Effort any day.

Great post. But wouldn't horang2 be number 2? I mean hes 5% higher on win rate. Total wins can't be everything.

Sure that's one explanation of the status quo, but I am of a different opinion. By that logic Horang2 becomes the greatest PvP professional Brood War player of all time because of his superior win rates. I personally tend to not associate player strength with ProLeague win rates. It tends to be heavily influenced by the coach's ability to organize the roster entry. Overall number of victories and number of games are more indicative of a team's innate trust in the player himself. For example, Horang2 was somebody who was strong at PvP, and was weak at PvZ. Movie was somebody who was strong at PvZ, and was weak at PvP. Horang2 was fortunate enough to play PvP (his strongest match-up) in 51.7% of his ProLeague games, while only being sniped by the enemy team in PvZ games in 20.7% of his ProLeague games. Movie was unfortunate in that his PvZ ProLeague matches comprised only 35.7% of his ProLeague games, while his weakest match-up of PvP comprised 35.0% of his ProLeague games. He roughly has an even distribution of all three match-ups within the ProLeague setting. Perhaps his team thought of him as an all rounder, perhaps he was sniped more successfully than Horang2 who was almost never sent in conditions that would bring out the worst in him. Horang2 filled a nice niche as the greatest PvP ProLeague sniper of the final years of professional Brood War, but his high win rates are more indicative of his coaches ability to correctly recognize his player's attributes, rather than Horang2 being innately more successful than Movie within the ProLeague setting. Any half-decent player can have insanely high win rates if they only play on their favourite map, in their favourite match-up, carefully picking who to go against, and playing only when their form is top notch. Movie's lower ProLeague win rate is more indicative of his team's trust in him to play his non-favourite match-ups with some competency, in my opinion, maybe that was somewhat unfounded, but who is to say that Horang2 would have had higher win rates if he was given more opportunities considering the fact that he was more limited as a player?
