I think its really shitty that TY's in the lowest part of the bracket so he plays last. Going the distance in lategame TvZ against a rested Dark when you already played a Bo5 that day and it's way later than you're used to playing... and yes, I agree that he was already looking very tired today.
You're assuming TY will live to late game vs Dark But we'll see, maybe he has a better day tomorrow. Or he just loses in the Ro12 and someone releases another "Welcome to ZParCraft" article.
Yeah, might very well never get to lategame. And he might just lose to Solar, as you wrote it's always close.
The odds are stacked very heavily against him. I would be much more hopeful if he played early. Damn it

Disappointing exit. He has 7 days to git gud for GSL now.
|
I knew TY was a kind hearted person. He never been aggressive against his practice partners. He even lost to Special, his friend: Rogue , Stats, and Solar a few times before.
|
I'm sad TY had such a poor tournament overall. But he's the #1 Terran in the WCS rankings now so at least he's a confirmed god

Really worried about GSL though after this not gonna lie.
|
His group is very stacked. He doesn't shine for consistency, he might as well sweep everyone.

That hurt. Went about as bad as we feared. It did think he looked off also yesterday, physically too. Maybe he was sick or something. Was definitely far from the level we have seen him at the last month.

Maybe he will do better once he's back home. But yeah it's not a lot of time to prepare

But he beat soO at IEM, and he should be able to take Gumiho.

Yea, that minor change by afreeca.
On a positive note, Rogue also didn't have a good tournament.

In bo3 TY is usually able to beat Rogue, time for optimism?
Jokes aside, Rogue looked pretty helpless against GuMiho's mech. And TY's mech vs Z actually looked insane at Katowice until he had one of his TY derps against Solar. Scanning the broodlords and not making thors

"jokes aside"... 10/10
We can be optimistic about the broadcast time on Saturday. One can check the results before watching the games, good for nerves!
At least he hasn't been in any kind of slump lately, on the contrary he's been strong. So we can hope that it was just a bad weekend, wouldn't be the first.

Years pass but being a TY fan never gets easier... I really want him to grap a trophy this year! I don't care if it's big cash or even super tournament one, but he needs to because the player of his caliber deserves it!

Was kinda surprised to see TY playing in the Olimoleague monthly finals. One would expect him to focus hard on preparing for the GSL. But it guess it doesn't take to long to play in that online tournament. He took out some good protosses too before losing out to herO, of course, in the finals. And judging from the way he gg'ed out in the last game as soon as his proxy rax was scouted, he didn't seem too invested in it.
Let's hope he plays his normal high level TvT level against GuMiHo in the first match, and advances from the winner's match over a soO still drunk on success
|
He’s playing just awesome in this GSL. Very good range of builds including early pressures and some greed. I was worried he’d try something fancy vs Rogue in regards to proxy and find himself in a slightly awkward position if scouted, but that banshee into hellbats pressure was a really well executed build and a better choice IMO.

And while sOs and Classic are not players he would relish playing against in the ro8, I like the draw much better than if he had to face someone from the other group. The prospect of potentially Dark or herO would have been way scarier. Hoping it’s Inno though.
|
Very nice play today, TY fighting~ ^^
|
You spend all week worrying about TY and then he just crushed the group. I guess there wasn't any reason to wonder if he had enough time to prepare either. Four extremely well prepared builds that just crushed his opponents. Great day.

Definitely hoping for Inno too, but Classic and particularly sOs are really bad opponents for him as well. Don't think he would rather face sOs than Dark.

Well, it's TY in the Ro8 of GSL so all players in group C will challenge him equally
