That having been said, I'd certainly like to see the Thor brought back to its WoL alpha version, where it was constructed by SCVs, and was larger and more of a grounded capital ship, even if it doesn't show up in a whole lot of games. On April 09 2015 07:09 ninazerg wrote: I like the colossus. I hope it stays in our hearts forever <3 I like it a lot aesthetically. But admittedly, it's often a prime reason behind a lot of boring games. I don't really mind it occasionally being used as a lategame deathball, so long as that's a rare occurrence. It certainly appeals to casuals well. You feel very powerful when you've got a big mass of Colossi, with some Stalkers for AA and a Zealot meatshield, and that's a sensation that feels very Protossy to me, in accordance with their aesthetic as a higher race of aliens. As far as more closely-fought games go, I'd like to see them only show up near the end of the tech tree, as a sort of killing blow. I've been toying around with the notion of giving them a +12 (x2) vs structures bonus, so that they're more of a siege-breaker than a general salughterer of large masses of units. + Show Spoiler + A related idea I had was to specialize them further, making them even more dedicated towards the late game. Cost: 300/200 → 350/250 Shields/HP: 150/200 → 175/250 Radius: 1 → 1.5 (model size should probably remain the same though) Attack: 12 (x2) → 10, +5 armored, +10 buildings (x2) Upgrade scaling: 12 +2 → 10 +1, +1 armored, +1 buildings Cooldown: 1.65 → 2.2 This would maintain about 2/3 of its HotS burst damage against light units and all of its burst damage against armored units, but would make it less impactful in long engagements per colossus, due to the lowered DPS against all units. However, it would be significantly better at taking out buildings, as it would deal 68 vs building damage per swipe in a lategame, fully-upgraded scenario. Realistically, this would mean dealing 62 damage per swipe vs Terran buildings and Protoss buildings that still have their shields, 64 damage per swipe against Spine Crawlers, and 66 damage per swipe against Protoss buildings that have lost their shields and Zerg buildings. After the first swipe, it would take just 13.2 seconds to knock down a supply depot wall with one Colossus. With two, it would take 8.8. With three, it would take just 6.6 seconds, and four would 2-shot the wall in just over 2.2 seconds. It would target down Spine Crawlers in just 11 seconds, or 2-shot them in just over 2.2 seconds with only three Colossi. Goodbye, late-game turtling Zerg! The HP and shield buff also would serve to make them less of a guarantee to kill when they've been abducted. It would take a full 24 shots from Roaches to target-fire them down, as opposed to the current 20, and increase of 25%! The increased radius would also lower their DPS density somewhat, and make it less useful to build more than 3-5 of them.

Probably since day one of beta people have hated the Colossus there is nothing special about the unit. I and so many others have been begging for the Reaver to come back for almost 5 years and nope we get the disrupter ball the one shot at glory ball.
