The niners can't afford that because they're too busy handing out luxury contracts, because lord knows this team doesn't have enough FB/RB making $5m+ a year.
I actually like Coleman, and he is lightyears better than McKinnon is. I hope they cut McKinnon because my fucking god if we keep his bloated salary when undrafted Matt Breida came in and averaged 5.3YPC and would have topped 1000 on the season if he wasn't constantly injured. As fast as he is, McKinnon last cracked 4ypc in 2015. He is 3rd down, pass catching back who is massively overpaid to the tune of 6th highest RB salary this past year.
I'm still really salty they're making deals like that rather than taking a real crack at Brown or OBJ considering the lack of real NFL weapons at WR.

I don’t quite understand why the Niners are willing to invest so heavily at non-premium positions. The Niners have no problems throwing endless resources at their backfield, but God forbid that they spend significant FA money or early draft picks on CBs.
As for McKinnon, he doesn’t have any guaranteed money left on his contract. The Niners could theoretically cut him with minimal downside. They could eat $6 million in dead cap space this year if they cut him before 4/1 or they could spread it out to $3 million this year and next if they cut him after 6/1.

Apparently AB was late for his intro press conference in OAK. He is such an ass.

So Vikings gonna keep things the way they are looks like—minus losing Lat Murray. I wonder who they will pick up as their RB2. Might use their first pick for it? Idk shit about football.

U can get good backs, especially 2's right through the whole draft. Hell Phillip Lyndsey (was the bronos top back this year) was an undrafted free agent rookie. They should have trouble finding one.
|
They should draft Devine Ozigbo from Nebraska. He's better than CJ Andersen and we saw how he performed.
|
Hunt ended up getting 8 games. That is probably good news for the browns. They can lean on Chubb for the first half then bring in a fresh hunt for the stretch and playoffs.
|
Chiefs should have kept Hunt.

fewer games than I expected

Perhaps. Their official reason for cutting him was because they had a closed door meeting with him where they asked what happened told him to be completely open and so on. He said nothing happened it was all BS. Then the video pops.
But their team would be better with Hunt then without.

Tannehill traded to and signed a one year deal with the Titans. Is this Mariota insurance or soes this mean tehy are moving on?

No way they replace Mariota with Tannehill.

Tyreek Hill under investigation for domestic violence involving his 4 year old son and a broken arm. Son is the child his pregnant girlfriend (now wife) was carrying when he beat and choked her in college.

It is crazy, I'm accepting a Teddy Bridgewater signing and or like a trade with Cards or other top pick team. I have also heard rumors of them possibly targeting one of the Steelers back ups.
However as of now it looks like a race to the bottom between them and the Giants.

Niners just resigned Raheem Moster to a 3-year deal. There's no way that they're keeping all these RBs. Someone is getting traded or cut.
|
A team asked some 37 yo QB back but not Kaep. Weird.
Also, the Tyreek Hill thing. I need details like crazy for that one. If it is the same as the AP thing, they need to leave him be and get on with life. Child rearing is a household issue and should be handled as such. NFL has no say in how a player disciplines their children. If he broke the arm on accident (can't think of many activities that would cause that), then let it go. if he was in a fit of rage or something, counseling, no custody, and banned from the NFL. That simple.
|
The thing I have heard about Kaep is that he wants starter money or at least above back up money with lots of incentives. I'm sure Losman was offered at best a try out. I think Kaep, if he wants to play football is going to have to accept very little guaranteed and lots of incentives. Let us not forget in his last season he got benched in favor of Gabbert, it is not like he was tearing it up.
I think they can get a pretty good idea of how it happened based on what type of break it is. Also what other injuries he has. If Hill did it then hopefully the woman has some sense and gets the child out of the home or the legal system does it for them. And I hope the NFL throws the book. But I go agree with you, take their time, get all the facts then act. Not that they should ever rush this kind of thing but there is absolutely no even excuse to in the off season.
|
I agree with both paragraphs. No rebuttal from me. But you see the field of QBs this year? At least offer him a try out or something. If he can still play at a high level, and you think you can draft a replacement and get him up to speed in 2 years, then the money is worth it, imo
