In the wake of MLG Raleigh, we have issued League Exchange Program invitations for the next Pro Circuit Live Competition. We are very happy to report that StarTaleBomber, our current Champion, will be returning to defend his title in Orlando.
In incredible news for the Pro Circuit and for StarCraft 2 fans everywhere, we can confirm that Bomber will be joined by none other than the Emperor himself, SlayersBoxer. This will be Boxer’s second Pro Circuit appearance, and we are honored and excited to have him with us once again.
The remaining two MLG Orlando League Exchange invitees will be announced shortly.
just because they dont come doesnt mean they havent been invited, MKP may have been invited but turned it down for some reason. he ran deep in code a so i doubt he would have come out to Raleigh unless he was knocked out in ro32 if he'd even been invited.
I can't wait to see Bomber again and of course the Emperor himself!! GO SlayerS!
Well, nothing against seeing boxer, but I think MVP should be invited again, considering that he was a past champion and only could not return because of scheduling issues.
I thought MLG had a policy of only inviting the previous champion back through the LXP. Did the policy change recently? Don't get me wrong, I like Boxer, but I'm a bit surprised that MLG bended/broke their own rules .

I don't think it was really "scheduling issues", he simply did not want to play in both events because he wanted to be practiced for GSL (HuK was his opponent after all, and he was at MLG, but keep in mind this is all my personal speculation). Regardless he will be invited again in the future as Sundance said ALL previous winners (from this year) will be invited to I think Providence, or it might be part of the upcoming semi-announced regional qualifier tournament or whatever it is that will have announcements coming soon oO.
I'm happy to see BoxeR, and looking forward to hopefully seeing more SlayerS in the Open Bracket and hopefully MMA accepting his seed into pool play.
Would be an insane stunt if Yellow can come to MLG & face Boxer in the finals to determine who can get code S spot. Oooooooh the drama that will ensue will be of legendary proportions then ^^

If they'll invite all the champions to MLG providence it'll just end up with top 16 Terran just like GSL. Since the LXP program started all the champions have been terran so far and now even the foreigner terrans are becoming strong T_T Sjow, Fenix and Thorzain are too good....
Keep in mind this is only the first two invites accepted. We try to get the returning champ + 1t, 1z, 1p, but it obviously doesn't always work out that way.
As Adam indicates, we invite a lot of players which the public never hears about. Most everyone wants to come, but sometimes schedules and conflicts arise. In those cases, we try to make the best decisions based who the best players are and who the community and fans want to see.
Boxer is a very popular player and as such I decided to invite him back when we weren't able to lock in another player.

They invited CoCa and Trickster last time, to be fair.
I wonder if they'll invite Puzzle. Hahaha. SlayerS taking over MLG again would be hilarious.
Yeah, but they also invited Bomber and Nada at Raleigh. At Anaheim they invited MMA, Mvp, and BoxeR. And at Orlando, there are inviting again two terrans.
Also, MLG has invited a Slayers player to every MLG when LXP was in effect. Please spread the wealth and stop showing favoritism to one team .
Anaheim was the best mlg for me so far but last mlg something was missing for me with this news i now know what it was - BOXER!!! fuck yeah xD ty mlg ♥

MLG isn't going to ONLY invite previous champions. Else how would you ever invite new players to the event.
BTW having Boxer at MLG Orlando will mean that he will most likely gain enough points to be seeded at Providence. So Moar Boxer!

(Read the previous comment. Former champion + 1Z, 1P, 1T, but it doesn't always work out.)
I'm pretty sure that when CoCa was invited, he was actually on ZeNEX. But then he changed teams. Unfortunate for ZeNEX, great catch by SlayerS.
On September 03 2011 05:57 Choboo wrote: They better make MLG 2012 Terran-free to make up for this joke >.>
The best Koreans, aside from a few, are terran. Also add in that Boxer and Nada, two legends, are also terran, you're gonna get a lot of terran.
I wanted to see Optimus/MKP at Orlando, but guess they wouldn't go all out with four terran invites. Wouldn't be surprised to see Puzzle come now that he is under the Slayers banner.

The thing is that since you started off Terran heavy (3 at Anaheim) the chances of a Terran champion will always be bigger. I think you should try current champion + 2 p/z (preferably p ^_^) and 1 of the other.

You misunderstood me. I thought they brought back the returning champion + 3 new korean players. I was surprised when MLG re-invited Boxer when he isn't an MLG champion and already attended an MLG through the LXP.

????
Returning champ + 1 terran invite so far this time. Where's the emphasis on Terran?
Columbus: MC(Orignally Bomber!), LosirA, Moon and MMA. Anaheim: BoxeR, MMA, MVP, DongRaeGu. Raleigh: NaDa, Bomber, Trickster, CoCa. Orlando: BoxeR, Bomber. Total Terran invites: 6(+ two that could not attend) Total Protoss invites: 2 (One invited because a terran wasn't able to show) Total Zerg invites: 4
Adding Boxer/Bomber to that, we'd currently be at 8(+2) Terran invites, with only 2 protoss where only ONE was actually invited as a normal invite (as far as we know. he could have replaced MVP.)
I don't mind the "low" zerg count, but I'd like to see someone like Zenio, or Losira again.
I think it would be awesome if NesTea came to an MLG and MC. Idk if NesTea or MC have already said anything about going or not going but those are my 2 hopes for the last 2 spots.

What many people here don't seem to understand is that the Koreans can decline their MLG invite. So saying "BRING MKP OMGOMG" is useless since he might have simply declined his invite. Same for other players of course

Sage would lose early because his PvP is really bad and foreign PvP is in general really good (ask Alicia and MC LOL)
Just cause those two lost to foreigners in PvP doesn't mean foreign PvP is better than Korean PvP, expecially when it's, well, PvP.
I'm guessing Boxer was to replace MKP. I hope to see a strong Protoss and Zerg get invited. Assuming MLG will try to invite fresh young faces, I predict Puzzle and Seal.

There going to pick a Protoss and presuming there not sending MC again theres not many Korean Protoss's who seem to be significantly better at PvP than Naniwa or Huk. Puzzle probably stands out at present.
MLG_Lee, are these invited Koreans getting a full expenses paid trip? Flight, hotel, transports food etc? Are you spending more on them than the NASL was willing to do ($2k each) and are you also paying the GSL and their teams extra fee's for borrowing their players?

I'm sure MLG is trying their best to get a good mix of players to come over... and generally there are alot better terran players in Korea(since most people play terran over there anyway) Also have to look at it from a business stand point, I'm sure there's more Boxer fans than zerg/toss fans lol

Could see Genius making the cut as well. The guys been around awhile got a bit of a fanbase, won blizzcon and is doing better than most Protoss's in TvP these days.

Agreed. People are acting like Coca wasn't even there. However, Terran saturation of tournaments is getting a bit wild tbh. From a spectator's point of view it's bland.
Blizzard realizes Boxer is the #1 ambassador of the sport world wide so they've intentionally over powered Terran to keep him on top. And in other news... Mike Morhaime is being investigated for being part of the fake moon landing in 1969...
Back to reality... Until Terran receives the nerf of patch 1.4 .. there is going to be a lot of T v. T at the games top level... this current wave of terran domination will soon be over... and along with the perpetual T. v. T.'s

Why do you think Korean teams are teaming up with foreign teams, aka Col-MVP, SK-oGs? Koreans want to be sent to foreigner tournaments. I doubt players from oGs, TSL, etc are turning down MLG invites. I bet MLG isn't offering it to them.

Would be really nice if some players could be invited from the teams who didn't get a shot at any European or American offline tournament yet, like Prime or HoSeo, just to make it fair. They also earned it with their performances in GSTL.
And of course more Zerg or Protoss would be nice too but please not MC since he already had so many invites to foreign events in the past. I guess Sage and/or Seal for HoSeo would really be nice and maybe HongUn for Prime, unless the amount of matches at MLG would hurt his wrist too much.

the whole point of people asking for more koreans is because they want to see the best players play. if the best players arent protoss whats the point.
you can whine about imbalance or whatever but if korean terrans are the best in the world (for whatever reason) people who want to see the best, want to see korean terrans.
Hero should be invited into pools - or did he place high enough to qualify for pools already? He is so good and doesn't deserve to have to go through open brackets again.

Great more Korean terrans, and ones I've already seen enough of.
Why can't MLG take a chance on lesser known people like puzzle/tassadar/leenock/byun/hack/curious or even just mix it up with someone well known like Nestea or julyzerg. Quickly losing interest in MLG as the last major foreign tourney to get my Korean fix for now that NASL got screwed.

They can't control whether or not players accept their invites. Bomber was a given, because he was the last champion. Boxer is their Terran invite. I think MKP would actually be a great idea. MKP is a very "emotional" player, he's not afraid to show tears on camera etc, and as foreigner fans are kind of known to be more enthusiastic (in the words of koreans at MLG) and excited (and numerous) at events I think MKP would looove MLG. And he's got a ton of foreign fans. Of course we dunno how he feels about it, let alone the prime team in whole.
As a matter of fact, I can't recall a prime player ever going to MLG. So maybe it's just out of their focus.

CoCa is Code S lol, how is he "lesser-known"? I think he means Code A and B players. :p
Puzzle is Code S and he's included in the list of "lesser known people."
Ehm, why is he? He has been ZeNEX best player together with Byun, been playing great in GSTL and GSL and he has a popular stream here on TL. If people have missed him they don't keep track on the pro scene imo. Anyone in Code S shouldn't be in that list for that matter.

Why can't MLG take a chance on lesser known people like puzzle/tassadar/leenock/byun/hack/curious or even just mix it up with someone well known like Nestea or julyzerg. Quickly losing interest in MLG as the last major foreign tourney to get my Korean fix for now that NASL got screwed.
yea if only they accepted the invite, which they didn't.
I bet you more than half of those people would have accepted.
I seem to recall Leenock/sC having some Visa issues due to their age. Then again, I don't know how Noblesse made it, considering he's only a few months older.

They can't control whether or not players accept their invites. Bomber was a given, because he was the last champion. Boxer is their Terran invite. If all goes as planned, there will be one Protoss and one Zerg invite. I personally would like to see Puzzle or San for the Protoss invite, and maybe July or Curious as the Zerg invite. GuineaPig would be awesome.

Ask forgottendreams, not me. I'm just using his criteria.
As to why I'd invite Puzzle, it's because he's arguably the second-strongest Protoss player in the GSL right now. I would still prefer San, to be honest, but that's just because I'm a fanboy.

I don't know about you, but I'd rather they invited some more established Protoss/Zergs or else the Terrans will dominate again. And by established Protoss I mean MC.
Just because Bomber and BoxeR are more established then Puzzle or Curious you think they'll win against them? You mention MC who is in a major slump and whose timings he rode the waves of meta-game fame on have been figured out is a better solution?
Please....
Lol, yes guys. MC has been figured out! He's not a good player folks, now -- everyone knows how to beat him.

I for one am complaining about Boxer lol. He's really not that good compared to his peers, sorry.
Is it just me that would love for MLG/GOMTV to support players from lesser known teams that are not in the position/economy to send players on their own?
Personally I would love for MLG/GOMTV to invite NsHoSeoSage. He is a great Protoss player and NsHoSeo has shown that they are a fantastic team in the GSTL.

Still smashes basically ever foreigner. Hell, he even took 3rd at the last MLG he was at.

If we're talking about somebody who deserves an invite it's Tassadar. Great protoss player.
Top Code A player who would be in Code S if not for playing nothing but terrans who 1/1/1 him out of up and down matches.
Boxer invite makes little sense. 50+ players in Code S and Code A and you're inviting him a 2nd time. Seems unfair. Sequels are never as good as the original.
No offense to MLG or Boxer, but I would like to see some new fresh faces in MLG. Don't get me wrong those are great picks but as I understand the exchange, Koreans as a whole should experience the glory of foreign tournaments.

I would like to see some new faces competing at MLG too. Some of the guys in Korea are really good but don't have the fame or opportunity (sponsors) to get invited and attend some of the foreign tournaments. Coca was such a good choice last MLG, he dominated his group and surprised a lot of people.
Bummed no mkp again! Sure hope mkp manages to qualify for IPL so we get to see him in a foreign tourney and yes I know he backed out of dh/iem. He needs to feast on some foreigners to get him out of his slump!

Can't help but suspect that the Boxer invite is a calculated move that will also get MMA to accept his pool play invite based on ranking. If that happens there's going to be so many freaking terrans. Ugh.

He was a Korean terran seeded into pool play. He did as well as I expected he would. Sorry that I don't think he has a prayer of beating a Code S terran but that doesn't make me "controversial."

How can you even say something like that when he got 3rd place last MLG he played and almost got in the finals even. Sure he probably won't win the event because Bomber is there and he's just better. But I expect Boxer to place top 6 again without a lot of trouble.
On September 03 2011 07:03 wats0n wrote: There's no way Boxer is going to win...He's an attraction more than a competitor. But he can still grab Code S without winning.
Somebody didn't watch the last MLG where he went 5-0 in his group (beating Idra, Sjow, and Sheth) and took 3rd overall...He's both an attraction AND a competitor. And about too many terrans, there are way more Korean terrans than any other race. So 2 terrans, 1 zerg, 1 protoss is reasonable. And if the zergs and protoss that MLG invites decline we might get 3 terrans, can't do anything about it. STOP THE WHINING INTERNETZ!

I did watch. I also would have told you he would do that in advance. He's better than those players. That doesn't mean he's a top player because he isn't. Nothing I said was incorrect so why bash me? And nobody is whining, this is a forum for discussion.
Remember last MLG when Bomber beat both DRG and Coca to win the title? It isn't MLGs fault that Terrans keep winning and therefore we constantly get 2 terrans. That's just how the games have played out. They said they invited Nestea, so we will see. Inviting the best Zerg and Protoss players is the fairest thing to do, but if they don't accept the invitation or still don't win the tournament, that's not MLGs fault.
Edit: Plus I don't see how anyone can be disappointed about Boxer playing more in foreign tournaments Also, any word on whether DRG will come back for a third MLG in a row? I really want to see more of the Koreans who get seeded into pool play making regular appearances, that would be awesome
Bomber being back is awesome, so happy he's defending his title.
V. Surprised to see Boxer invited back again so soon but oh well, that will be cool. I wonder if more of SlayerS will make the trip under their own steam if Boxer is in attendance. I had kind of been expecting them too at some point.

At the risk of getting warned by a moderator...My opinion on this is the following: MLG will invite whoever will bring the crowd, from a business point of view and marketing this is common sense.
What I've heard at my downtown PC bang thought is different... People were pointing out that BoxeR was given another chance for an "easy" Code S pass "ok and..." I replied... -Dude do you know how hard it is to qualify for Code A over there?
Should I understand that it is actually easier to fly to USA attend an MLG event and gamble for a Code S pass? I don't know.
But one thing for sure. If Wayne Gretzsky was to make a NHL comeback (forget about it), even thought he's old and pretty much finished, not as intense as during his good years, he would still attract crowds, for what he did in the past and his prestige. BoxeR is in the same position for professional Video Gaming and the same applies to NaDa which in my opinion, honestly is by far the most accomplished pro gamer ive heard of, not reffering to how many titles won, but the stability of NaDa is VERY Impressive. I hope to see him at MLG again

I can't speak to what NASL does as I'm not familiar with their policies. I have seen some criticisms of their practices as well as some debate, so the only opinion I would there is that unless you're inside the organization (MLG or NASL) anything that you speculate on is just that, speculation. There are dozens of variables that change on the fly in any travel booking. Especially when you are trying to coordinate not just your flight but also over 200 other flights for players, staff and VIPs that might be attending your event.

god the protoss and zergs in here are childish as hell. you are bitching over 2 terrans out of 4? one of the races has to have 2 by default. couple this with the fact that nearly every brood war legend carry over plays T and that half of code S is T, and it would seem that 2 terrans fits in just fine. Furthermore, MLG cant control who accepts the invites and nobody can control who decides to come over on their own dime. Terran is by far the most popular race in Korea. Therefore, there will be more Korean terrans at MLGS than other races. Koreans are way better than foreigners, hence the odds of a Korean terran winning the whole thing are pretty damn high.

Absolutely amazing news. Now please bring Code A/B players for the remaining spots. Would be amazing with players fighting hard for the Code S-spot (let's face it, a foreigner will probably not get into the top three - though I'd love to be proven wrong).
I'd love it if you brought Sage (all-killed in the GSTL, one of Artosis' most beloved Toss players, got far in the LG Cinema tourney) and maybe Revival (excellent Zerg on TSL). As long as you get one Zerg and one Toss, I'm happy (though tbh I'm probably going to be happy with whoever you choose.
Hoping Boxer can take home Orlando so I can potentially see him in Providence. And the rest of the winners as well, MVP, MMA, Bomber again, that would be unreal to see all of them play live.

MLG would have probably invited another Terran player instead, so it wouldn't have any effect on the number of Terrans in the tournament.
I'm curious to why Bomber accepted unless there is an understanding that he might have to pull out pending GSL results. Looking at the schedule of the past two GSLs, MLG Orlando might be on the same week as the next GSL Code S Semifinals unless the GSL skips that week.

GSL can easily push the game forwards/backwards a few days, loss of practice time would be the main reason anyone would decline.
We need a SlayerS Terran to stand up to Bomber in a TvT. WTB Ryung/Ganzi/MMA in Orlando. I think they will probably send a SlayerS batch outside of the LxP program. It would make sense since Jessica will probably accompany BoxeR. Might as well bring a few more to tag along!
As much as I hate another terran getting into code S, I think it would be great for SC2 if Boxer manages to get back in - so I'm loving the invite for him.
I'm probably the only one, but I hope Hongun gets invited, this kid is way underrated and over-hated (thanks to Artosis lol) despite being one of the best and most consistent protosses the GSL has seen. He's been in code S every single season, has two RO4, two RO8 and one RO16 appearance, there are no protoss players aside from MC (maybe Genius also but to a lesser extent) who has shown anywhere close to Hongun's consistency.

Well, assuming BoxeR makes it into Code A again this weekend and looking at the Code A / S format it would mean that Code A is finished already when the Code S semi finals are occuring. Because there are no exact dates it might be during the Up/Down matches as well but that is again assuming that BoxeR makes Ro8 in Code A.

Someone said GuineaPig on the last page. That would be awesome, IMHO. (Didn't he actually sign up as Protoss for the Code A quals this time around? Sad if we're losing such a good Random player, but he's another possibility if MLG needs Protoss.)
the whole point of people asking for more koreans is because they want to see the best players play. if the best players arent protoss whats the point.
you can whine about imbalance or whatever but if korean terrans are the best in the world (for whatever reason) people who want to see the best, want to see korean terrans.
Judging by this thread they clearly dont wanna see just terrans. And no, the terran players arent better, they are playing a stronger race atm.
They should really invite July. He came last time on CSN's dime, tore through the open bracket, and placed pretty well overall. I'd love to see him invited and placed directly into the group play.
So unless they invite Nestea, terran is gonna win again? Great, much fun... Not balance whine, Bomber is just really good. Like to see another race winning for a change.
YAYY BoxeR. Me being the big SlayerS fanboy I am have been very happy with the invites in the LXP :D gj MLG
EDIT: Can people stop qq'ing about the lack of protoss in the tournament? I will be perfectly honest and this is in my eyes as well as my friend's; watching PvP or PvT is EXTREMELY boring simply because PvP usually ends up in a 4 gate vs 4 gate in which the person with the most stuff usually wins and PvT is kinda the same, ahh man my opponent has more marines then I have stalkers ah well that's GG. I mean yeah sometimes we will see some pretty epic EMP vs Storm but it's just my personal opinion and I think MLG agrees or protoss' simply don't want to come :o

Well they COULD invite a Random player, but there aren't too many of those out there...
Wish they didn't have to reinvite bomber. He just dominates and he is already code S so he doesn't have that much to gain. Seems like he didn't care as much.

They re-invite past champions to defend their titles. That's how it works.
And just because he's not as expressive as other players doesn't mean that he "didn't care as much." Sure, maybe he didn't look like he cared to you, but hell, I thought he radiated happiness.
Oh well... GOM and MLG are making everything they can to get Boxer into Code S, considering it will provide a boost in the sharings for both companies and Starcraft 2 fan base. Way to go... o.0
On the "fan boy" side, happy to see the defending champion and the Emperor back.
Gotta love people not reading the thread asking the same question over and over again. Good stuff MLG, thanks for making a normal straightforward announcement. Waiting to hear the rest of the invites.

They usually try to invite 1 T, 1 P, 1 Z and the previous champion. The two T's are taken care of, I'm sure they're looking at Z/P now.

Why are you inviting Koreans into the championship? Shouldn't they have to qualify through points to come???
because GSL gives foreigners free code A spots and accomodations to the GSL
So? It's the championship of the MLG season. Why would 4 players who may have never been to a previous event be allowed to be seeded right into it? Unless for the 4 championship invites they are only going to invite the previous MLG champions.
Hope some lesser known Zerg and Protoss will be invited. If not, then I hope NesTea and Puzzle are the two invitees. Invite NesTea and a Zerg will finally win MLG :D

Anybody they invite will by default be better than any foreigner who may have enough points.
Suhhhweetness! Bomber for back to back champion. Now I wonder which zerg and protoss will be invited. Hoping for Nestea and Puzzle but it will probably be a couple less notable players.

I feel people don't realize that the people that come are not the only people they ask. They said before they've asked MVP, Nestea etc but they declined due to playing in the GSL currently or for other reason.
So basically Boxer is gonna be invited till he gets Code S ? I dont think all terrans refuse the invitation so that it has to go to BoxeR. Wheres Polt, MKP, Byun, asd, Clide & tons of others ? Hows about TheStC aka fans' favorite and non-GSL player

Well if he keeps getting invited and Yellow gets into Code A... well, the amount of win would be incredible.
MLG. since you have the intention to spread out the invites among the 3 races, please please please in the future, please announce all 4 invites at the same time. Or forumers such as those below will flood this topic with these messages.

I hope they'll invite a korean Protoss that has a chance to challenge for the championship this time. It's kind of hard to think of one that's actually able to though. MC seems to be slumping really bad at the moment. Puzzle is promising though - he would be cool to see at next MLG.
I really hope Genius gets invited to the next MLG. He's been one of the most consistent Korean protosses for a while, and he also got kind of screwed by not getting invited back to defend his title at Blizzcon.

Why invite them though? MMA and Bomber and some others will already qualify based on points for the championship. You are going to have like 12 koreans in the championship if they invite 4 others.
I'm betting BoxeR enjoyed himself so much last time that he begged to be invited back for another MLG.
I'm hoping he brings his whole team back. Wait, then the top 10 will be like 8 Terrans and 2 non-T Koreans. XD Well, whatever.
Actually, I suspect that this is another thinly-veiled "get someone into Code S" schemes. BoxeR is playing well enough lately that he could probably finish top 3 again behind 2 other Code S players. Once he's in, he might well hang around Code S for a few seasons, which is cool with me... and good for GSL ratings.
As long as we're trying to get fan-favorites [back] into Code S, I hope they bring san this time. We could use some creative and solid Protoss play! BboongBboong would be pretty cool, too, given how well he's been doing in the teamleague, but I haven't seen him play that much personally.
I also think that re-inviting players might work pretty well with the current MLG ranking point system, since it reduces the churn of high-ranked players. I guess it's not super-important since the LXP players are getting seeded straight into pools anyway.
It's actually a very smart move to send BoxeR back. He's a popular player in both the foreign and the korean scene, and him dropping out of code S was a big shock for a lot of people. I think that Gom wants him back in code S just as much as we do. Popularity = viewers. I'd root for BoxeR if he'd be on, man, wouldn't you?
Surpised Boxer is getting 2 invites, love him regardless and he'll be awesome there :D. Makes sense I guess considering many of the fan faves are in Code S.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I assumed inviting meant paying for their trip as well? So if they're not invited they might not come due to expenses.
Please please invite Yellow. Put him in the open bracket if you think he doesn't deserve Pool Play. It's fine.
These Korean superstars are worshiped at home , but they have limited international exposure. They need to know will know that there are people from all over the world who adores them.
This will also make sure he will train for another month. Season 1 Project A is to train for code A, then Season 2 for MLG!! Maybe after he sees the reception that everyone has for him, he'll be touched.
this is a great chance for MLG to get huge buzz by inviting Yellow to Orlando... can't get much better than the possibility of lin jin rok in the main stage to get all starcraft nerds to shit in their pants.

My favourite thing about the MLG/GSL exchange program is that I get to see top Koreans play against some of the best foreigners. I don't want to see somebody with no success in Starcraft 2 take up one of the invites purely due to their relative celebrity status. Invites should only be given to those proven to actually be good enough to compete for 1st place.

People said the same thing about Moon and Boxer. They placed 6th and 3rd respectively. Yellow isn't anywhere close to that level right now but Orlando is a month away. By then Yellow could be good enough to take games off top foreigners.
Yellow is not ready. I can't imagine something more humiliating for a SC legend than being owned by a bunch of foreigners in front of thousands of people. He doesn't need this.
To be honest I do not get why people blame MLG for inviting Terrans. If there were more good and recognisable Korean Zergs and Protosses then there'd be more 'balanced' numbers. Blame the player pool or Blizzard's game design imo...

Because GSL does the same for the foreign players. If you really want to be strict about meritocracy, then 80% of the people in group stages shouldn't be allowed to be in there time and time again. Incontrol has lost every single game in groupstages in the last 3 MLG, why is he still around for example.
Boxer was rank 3rd the last MLG he went to, and Bomber was champion. I don't know what you're complaining about, if you want to use merit as an argument, you need to show the same criticism for every players.

Boxer is currently ranked 22nd on the MLG point list. He has been to one event. People that have been to every event are barely ahead (~200pts TLO, Sheth, Haypro, mOoNan). of him. Without the invite, if MMA, MVP, LosirA, MC, and Coca do not show, and Bomber already an invite, Boxer would be seeded in anyways.
The fact is Boxer is more deserving then every other foreigner ahead of him (in terms of MLG results) and that is before we take into consideration that he is E-SPORTS, and the following he has. MLG knows bringing boxer=money and prestige. Boxer has finished higher (counting the infamous Dallas event) then foreigner heroes: idra, slush, sjow, huk, ret, incontrol, haypro, TLO, sheth, moonan, socke, all who are ranked ahead of him in point in the 2011 season.
Maybe Boxer is not quite on par in GSL, but in foreign tournaments like MLG, he rapes faces. In fact he brings all his friends to rape face as well. Then they take our money and return to Korea where they use to to recruit/steal more players and then return to MLG to do it again.

Boxer invitation is SC2 politics. GOM tries to help Boxer out in order to secure more Code S exposure in SK with him in it and MLG gets more viewers as well, since the Boxer love is unparalleled in the West (maybe Nestea). It is a win win situation. Why not use it?

i understand the whole thing of getting nestea over and mvp, but even considering not as good players with alot of fans would be just as good, for instance, yellow may not be as good, but he would have a lot of fans behind him, also slayersdragon has a ton of fans from his hilarious streams, players like that would atleast make my mlg experience better

I would not want to see Yellow at MLG. He would just get stomped by everyone in his pool. He would probably even lose to Incontrol, given his horrible ZvP.
He can come when he's ready to own face. Until then, I just want to see him practicing SC2 as hard as he can so he can get into Code A (if he decides to continue, that is).

who said he had to be in the pool?
I thought you were asking for him to be an invite.
But I don't think he'd make it out of the bracket either, to be honest. He's just not there yet.

I thought I'll quote this since most ppl will miss it. Makes sense imo

Um.. yeah it makes perfect sense. If you don't understand why Boxer got another invite back then you don't understand eSports, and have 0 basic business sense.
Like I have friends who don't follow eSports or SC2 who have heard of Boxer.
The reason they only invite terrans is because there is no protoss or zerg left in gsl!! (Heheheheehe) Great news but i would like to see a protoss pro come over since it has been strictly Z and T so far.
i still think mlg offers the best atmosphere and its nice to see the players that have been there want to come back again

It would be nice to see Puzzle in MLG, maybe he can live up to the expectations and destroy at MLG. Since Killer screwed up in pool play with his nexus first (cuz of 1-1-1 threat? come on 1gate FE can hold that too, can't it? :/ cuz nexus first is just...) we can't know if korean toss did badly because they are protoss or because they were not good korean protoss (the case for TesteR since he is lazy practicing).

SlayerS= Vikings at the MLG
All of this makes sense but there is the fact that they are inviting GSL players. Most of the GSL players also deserve it more than every other foreigner or whatever the word is. Even some comparably laughable names like sc, nuclear, jjakji, seal, clide, revival and sage would make better off invite spots because they would bring on better games.

Honestly, YellOw sucks right now. His skill level isn't even comparable to BoxeR, let alone Bomber and what not. YellOw's play is around Masters level, which is commendable, but let's face it, not exactly great.
Please stop inviting so many korean terrans. I know these specific players are really strong right now, but TvT semi's and finals get old after a while.

He's currently the only one of the top3 gsl winners who hasn't bothered yet. So people can hope

He might not want to...but IM get a lot of press from this and sponsors like that, the player might not wish too but the team will no doubt benefit from it if he does go to foreign events.

MKP -> Cuz he is MarineKing. MC -> He needs his code S back.
Can't be marineking, riots against Terran would overwhelm even his cuteness.
MC yes though, he's definetily putting himself in position to get an invite now.
As much as I'd love to see MC.... I don't think it will happen, seeing as they already invited him once with Boxer already being re invited as well I assume the other two invites will be new faces to MLG.
One can still hope though, He is one of the best and by far the best personality for live events!
This is good news ^.^ boxer is always fun to watch. Since I play terran I don't really feel that having more is bad. It always helps seeing new builds.
On September 08 2011 03:29 cursor wrote: Okay I love Boxer. Don't get me wrong. But easy with the Terrans FFS. Need Toss Zerg pleaseplease!
They always send the previous winner and one zerg, one protoss and one terran. Bomber was the terran from last MLG and Boxer was their choice for terran.
I live 30 min for ORLANDO and im SO SIKED ABOUT THIS!! I am competeing in it TOO so looking foward to test my skills against my fellow gamers. I dont care if i get owned im really there for the atmopshere!!
Hope they get someone in code A to come so he enjoys the code S spot. Maybe some up and comer like JYP? Or MC himself again? maybe revival or sage or curious, one of the upcoming good players!
I just read on twitter that Leenock is coming to MLG Orlando but then I checked here and there is nothing about it and some minutes later it was gone again on twitter as well. What is going on there? Some coordination problems regarding when to release information to the public? Unfortunately I didn't take a screenshot of the message because I obviously didn't expect it to just disappear again. -_-

I almost feel like they need to start inviting 1 per race and then + 1 ... fan favorite or something. Otherwise its just going to be Korean vs Korean aka T V T
